Air Jordan, Air Jordan, Air Jordan

Nike is about to release the 23rd (and potentially last) iteration of the wildly successful Air Jordan basketball shoe. It is set to open in a 3-round increasing radius of release, gradually decreasing in price from the opening $230 to the ultimate national price of $185.

This is absolutely horrible. It's not a matter of what you pay for is what you get. This is feeding corporate greed.

Go out and get a pair of equal quality Starbury's for $14.98.

No one is putting a gun to your haed to buy a pair. It is what a free market is all about. If everyone feels like you, then they won't sell. My guess is, they don't.

Most of the people who buy these aren't going to wear them to play basketball, therefore performance is not the determining factor. Brand, prestige and look are much more important.

You'd be hard pressed to find a bigger fan of Air Jordans than me. I've got a ton of 'em, and my collection includes, but isn't limited to several pairs, (each), of AJ 3's, 5's, 7's, & 11's. Way too many shoes for a guy to have, I know, but I like 'em!

They aren't cheap, and are real hard to find if you have a normal size foot.

I've like them since the late 80's, and still think they are the best sneaker type shoe I've ever worn!

I recently saw an original pair of AJ 1's, new & in the box, selling for 9k.

Nike will be releasing a new version of its Air Jordan line in the near future. Its a cross between their Air Force One & the Air Jordan 5. They've named it Fusion, and with the money this product pulls in, from suckers like me, I doubt it will be their last.

Am I safe to assume you buy 2 pair of each, or do you spend most of your time on your rear legs? :thumb:

I wish I had the money. I threw down on a couple pairs of LeBron III's a few years back. That line has gotten really ugly.

I hear that!

That's the main reason I stopped buying Air Jordans with the 11. Nike seemed to have lost their taste in what looks good in a shoe after that. The AJ's from 12-21 were butt ass ugly.

Here's a pic of the Fusion that I mentioned earlier:

Not a lot of flash, but it looks like Nike is getting back on the right track as far as taste goes IMO.

Side note to GB1:

Very safe, and wise to assume that, because that's exactly what I do!

With this Fusion model coming out, I might even get one for my snout, and ever so popular tail!

Will be buying those. I'm assuming they'll come in a multitude of colors much like the AF 25's. I forgot, I do have a red and white pair of those, also a decent looking sneaker.

Some Retro AJ 5's that are still available are pictured above.

MrTitleist was right, I did fill his ear about the best athletic shoes made.

I think he ended up being a better person for listening to my running commentary about said shoes, and he's yet to thank me for his sudden improvement! :thumb:

If by "rear legs" you mean "on his knees" then you understand the "inner Grizo".

He spends so much time on his knees they have calloused and he is having joint trouble because of it. Hoof in mouth disease PAHleze..........

However calloused my knees might be, they pale in comparison to the massive amount of tissue build up that's found a home on your elbows over the years. Coupled with that ever so large, circular muscle that you call a mouth, its no wonder your dance card is always full at the numerous all male social events you attend.

$185. If i wasn't already planning on getting an iPhone I would buy those... perfect for attending Griz basketball games.

I almost got those, but decided to go with the Green Beans for $225, and a Gz One phone! :thumb:
