KAY was the first true freshman QB to start the first game of the season for da Griz. That was a year ago.

My oh my what a difference we have this year in how far he has progressed. His ability to hit receivers downfield in stride is phenomenal..

Let's hope he stays in Missoula for another 2 or 3 years!

He was actually a redshirt freshman last year. He was a true freshman in '23. But I agree about his progression. He has made huge strides this year.

His progression has been highly impressive, and fun to see. It was easy to see his potential last season, but to put it together so quickly AND continuously improve all season has been truly remarkable

From someone fighting for playing time to perhaps the best QB in all of FCS is astounding.
Hes been fighting for playing time since the day he stepped foot on campus. ;) His true frosh year, some know but some don't, he was #2 on the depth down the stretch that season. Last season he won the job, had a hard time staying healthy and couldn't quite wrestle the outright job from the other guy. The work put in from end of last season to fall camp this season vaulted him from a strength and precision standpoint, and he's just totally evolved all season, with noticeable improvement on a week to week basis. Awesome 👌 👏 💪

Im with you. Hes the last on my list of players im worried about looking for a paycheck.
I mean, with the proliferation of YOUNG weapons around the field (Gillman still just a junior, Fonoti, Jones, Davis, Monte Gillman, Dever, Hendrix, Bridges, etc.) and the rise of the big young OL guys (Freitas, Amick, Hilden, Kanakaole, etc.) he’s got it MADE for the next two years. This offense is gonna break records every year going forward.

Defensively with Otlewski, Schwartz, Bailey, Wing, Oven, Goodman, The Beaner bro’s, Boyd, Cutler, Opitz, Oven, Ramos, Mason, Gentry, Loud, Brady, Orlandi coming in…we are set.

There’s going to be a LOT less turnover this year than last (as far as starting positions go). This team is poised for excellence for the foreseeable future.
