After the game. . .

I was just curious as to what all the hustle and bustle (fighting) was all about after last night's game? I was forced to sit up at the top of the GA section by my friends where I could not see what happened. Just curious. Thanks!

Others posted it but Berry and Otis took exception to someone (possibly DeShields) with some post-game chatter. Berry went after a few guys and had to be restrained by two coaches. Otis and another Weber player needed to be held back. As Berry was being taken from the court he was apparently yelling at the student section and calling them crackers.

From the game thread:

otis, berry and another weebs player in warm up gear flipped off the general admission and students as they were leaving the court. berry used a racial slur as he left as well. something about being a cracker. Most classless players i have ever seen after losing a game

I can second that. I was there in that area too. He did use the "cracker" comment to a student as he was being escorted. Then, extremely distraught, and with tears welling in his eyes, DB looked me in the eyes and told me "I will Fu#k you up too". Within 2 seconds the coaches had him in the Locker room. I am sure he pushed out a few tears in there. Hopefully this was a learning experience for Mr. Berry.

I love the way Weber usually just comes out and plays tough and physical basketball. Nothing flashy. On the other hand, Coach Rahe needs to starts coaching his players on some post game ethics. It sounds like our Grizzly basketball players and students get in their heads pretty easy.

So basically nothing happened since he was black and its perfectly acceptable behavior.

Cool

Your cracker ass is too predictable, lately. You should let Jake wheezy take this one he is much funnier.

The dufus should have known that the cracker epithet only works in Georgia. The only time I ever offended one of our Georgia Southern brethren was when I unwittingly used the word in a post.

I don't get the whole "cracker" thing. How can that be a put down? crackers are good! Cheez-its... Goooooood, chicken in a bisket.... Goooooooooooood, saltines in clam chowder... Gooooooooooo, well, you get the picture.

Maybe the ones that feel it's a put down have a gluten allergy/intolerance? Gluten free crackers suck, cardboard has a better taste and texture.

I gotta disagree on the "Chicken in a Biskit" thing. Those things are nasty. Remember when you used to go over to your friend's house, and it smelled like "Chicken in a Biskit," even though you knew they didn't have any "Chicken in a Biskit" in the house?

Agreed. Also, why do so many people pretend to be gluten-intolerant?

I consider myself a buttery Ritz cracker and am by no means offended. Now there may be fighting words if you called me Rye Crisp....yuck.

As a Celiac I will tell you you are eating the wrong crackers.

AWF, Gluten sensitivity affects more people than want to admit it. To each their own. I don't get too worked up about it.

Not that I want to turn this into a Celiac forum... I also have Celiac and DH, and I haven't tried a cracker yet that even compares to the real deal. I will give props to Betty Crocker on the cookie, (to not appear racist and bring this back to the topic, I enjoy both the white and chocolate mixes equally) cake, brownie mixes though.

Tinks said on coaches show last night, that Keron had nothing to do with altercation. Said Keron was 20ft away when it started and ran over to separate players. He said it was started by Cherry and Berry. Tinks didnt seem to concerned about it, and just stated emotions were running high because of the big game, and that it was all just words.

that was my take after watching the vidoe too. i love that stuff. sure the coaches might make them run a little extra but you know they like it too. nothing got out of hand. no fists were thrown. just too good teams who don't like each other and probably said as much after the game. love that emotion. it'll make your guys game against weber that much better. :thumb:

Perfect take on the post-game antics, "ILovetheCats." Or... as Kareem Jamar said to Mick Holien after the game, “It was just two competitive teams,” Montana’s Kareem Jamar said. “It was a little chirping.”

I sit near the court on the South end and noticed -- right about the time when WSU grabbed their 25-15 lead -- both Berry and Jordan Richardson giving Cherry a ton of verbal flak. So it's understandable that the "chirping" continued. I wouldn't blame any of Montana's super-competitive floor leaders for getting in one final barb post-game.
