Adams and Daly...

Vernon Adams was added to the Payton award watch list while Brad Daly was added to the Buchanan award watch list and deservedly so since both are having outstanding seasons. They may be breaking some records at their current pace. Hopefully the Griz can find a way to slow them down.

Individual awards are nice but pale in comparison to our entire O-line being nominated to the Matador hall of fame after their performance Saturday night.

Lol.....now that's funny.

Alex Singleton and Brock Coyle both deserve to be on the Buchanan list right now, WITH their teammates, but that's one too many roosters in the henhouse and it isn't going to happen as Tripp and Daly are the faces of their respective defenses. Bottom line though, is the Griz and Cats have four of the best individual defensive players in the FCS.

I agree with you on Coyle, haven't seen the Cats much this season but I'll take your word on Singleton. Coyle will be on that list soon enough and probably Singleton from the sounds of it. Jordan Johnson and Zach Wagenmann or on the other players considered for the watch list so I bet if they would have had great games against NAU they would have been added this week or soon.

Interesting side not on Brad Daly, during his time off from the Cats, he was working, I think in oil fields, and when he decided he wanted to play football again, he initially was going to come play at Northern. He actually gave them a visit and a verbal commit. His brother has come and helped with the Northern football camp for some years now. Obviously, his skill set is well above the Frontier Conference, but it's interesting to think what might have been if Ash hadn't welcomed him back. Northern has the top-rated defense in the Frontier right now, and if things would have happened differently, holy smokes.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand, I think Jordy will make his way on to the Payton list. There is another update around this time next month. Of course, for that to happen, the Griz' offense needs to get going in the right direction again.

Daly and Singleton are the shining stars on what otherwise has been a really spotty performance so far by the Cats D.

Singleton's stats so far, just out of curiosity for myself and anyone interested:

42 Total Tackles
1.5 sacks
8.5 TFL
3 Ints

Daly has been a beast, particularly at home, simply terrorizing lesser opponents. Let's see how he does when they aren't playing the Colorado School for Girls.

He's also held up well on the road, unlike many or our other defenders. Brad has played well in all 5 starts, and so has Singleton. I'll ignore the last line, OKps? :D
