A-Rod Free agency

What are the thoughts about ARod going back to the Yankees?

I forgive him for listening to that jackass agent of his. Notice Arod did this without him.

Do you really believe that a baseball player is worth $250 million, or $300 million? No way anyone is worth that much.

I just wish you could convince all of those CEOs of all those Fortune 500 companies that. As they take off with a $ 300 million retirement plan, a million a month severance plan with stock options as they bankrupt the company.

P.S. - That's stock options in their nearest one time competitor, that is, the ones that are still standing. Didn't some Montana Power Company exec. try to do that a while back?

I wonder if this means that the Texas Rangers will be off the hook for about $ 21 million if this deals goes through?

Texas was off the hook the day that ARod opted out. The kicker is ARod was going to be offerred more than that to stay, so in essence he cost himself money because he told the Yankees he would take less because of the loss of the Texas money. Nice to see ARod decided to be Stay Rod instead of Me Rod.

One of the few times I would applaud the owners

I wonder if there was any collusion or gentlemen's agreements between the owners....and I wonder if the Yankees weren't just stampeding to take advantage of it.

Its a good move if their long term goal is just to have ARod. But ARod doesn't make them better...he just keeps them at the same level. If the Yankees did take advantage of the other owners they will find it harder to make trades and negotiate with a group that may not be trustworthy.

also heard that Jose Molina has recently singed a $ 4 million 2-year contract;
