I don't claim to be a Griz BB expert, but it seems like the only way that a BSC team would get an NIT bid is if they won at least a share or the conference regular season, but did not win the conference tourney.

I'm not certain, but I believe that PSU got an NIT invite last year, and I know the cats got an invite about 3 years ago or so when we won the conference season, but lost to Dan Trammel at the last second :crybaby:

The NIT is now owned by the NCAA so the selection process may change. I know I read somewhere that were thinking of changing it so if you won your regular season league title but not the post season tourney, you would get an auto invite to the NIT. But that is all speculation.

Somewhere I read that the potential for a good gate is a major factor in deciding who gets in.......?

20 wins will usually get just about any team into the NIT. As long as you didn't play a whole bunch of cupcakes and your RPI is in the top 150, an invite is likely.

Damn, I still remember that one. It still hurts. :crybaby: I don't think PSU got a bid. They won 19 (about 1 short of NIT selection) and they came from a pretty weak BSC last year.
