Thanks, useful to have the facts in one nice package. Wish I would have copied it before it disappeared.Wrong forum, tried to delete it but...........
I will never forget the pick that Jordan Hasquet put on Stanford’s star point guard in the backcourt. Dropped him like a bag of rocks. The atmosphere in Adam’s was loud and electric.I was a freshman the last time they won a first round game, and we beat a heavily favored Stanford team at home that year too.
For whatever reason, I will always vividly remember heckling Stanford players shooting free throws (Facebook was brand new, so we could heckle them with personal information like a little sister's name or randomly asking how they like going to Saint Mary's Episcopal church just to throw them off), and then Virgil Matthews coming down court on a wide open break and throwing it down right in front of me. Absolute peak sports joy for Elrod at that age.
I don't think I sat down the entire time we were getting that first round win. Looking back, I so wish I had found a way to get tickets and go see it live.
Hasquet was so much fun to watch that season. Matt Martin used to play pickup games a lot outside the Elrod dorms, so I got to play a little bit with him for funsies. That Stanford game will always be a favorite sports memory for me.I will never forget the pick that Jordan Hasquet put on Stanford’s star point guard in the backcourt.
