40th anniversary of Kofax's perfect game...

Somebody posted this link on an M's board that I frequent and I thought that I would post it here. It's Vin Scully calling the 9th inning of Kofax's perfect game on Sept 9, 1965. I wasn't even alive when it happened and I'd never heard the whole thing. All I had ever heard was some of the great quotes that came from the call. ("the pitchers mound in Dodger stadium is the loneliest place in the world" and "29,000 people in the ballpark...and a million butterflies")

Anyway, if you like baseball play by play, this is a beauty.

FYI - the losing pitcher (Hendley) only gave up one hit, one walk and one run in the game. Talk about a pitcher's duel.

Vin Scully is the greatest......there are some great ones out there but I love Scully.....I would have loved to have seen Koufax pitch......they made it seem like watching Michaelangelo painting the Sistine Chapel
