Griz scoring averages per game:

32-Kareem Jamar, 6-5, fr. 6.9 ppg

24-Derek Selvig, 7-0, jr. 9.3 ppg

41-Brian Qvale, 6-11, sr. 14.8 ppg

5-Will Cherry, 6-1, so. 15.6 ppg

12-Jordan Wood, 6-3, jr. 5.5 ppg

The Griz brought Jordon Wood in as a shooting guard, yet he is averaging 5 pts a game and the Griz are averaging an eye-gouging 26 percent from 3-pt range.

If Wood could up his scoring from "3" a tad, this team becomes more dangerous. :twocents:

We are currently #338 out of 346 in Div1 for 3 point shooting percentage. Right now we are averaging about 4.4 3 point makes a game out of about 17 attempts.

It's time for us to calm down a little on the 3 ball and start going back to what works. Our guard play and wings are very good at creating shots for themselves and others. We have Qvale who is shooting 62% from the field. Get him the ball! Cherry, if you take out his 3 point attempts, is shooting 57.3%.

We didn't beat UCLA by burying them with 3 pointers (we hit 5 out of 15 attempts). We took 50 shots in that game and made 26. 21 - 35 for the game if you take out the 3 point attempts. That's pretty damn impressive.

Against SF we took 55 shots, but 25 of them were 3 point attempts. We should not have anywhere close to 45% of our shot attempts being 3 point attempts in a game, or be throwing up 25 3 point attempts. We aren't that type of team this year (at least not right now).

I do think our 3 point shooting will get better....Wood will come out of his slump, as well a couple other players who are struggling from 3 point range right now. Even when that happens I don't think we'll be a team that should be throwing up 25 a game though...

When do you look to Weisner?

To answer your question, immediately.

Wood has been a disapointment from beyond the arc, and scoring in general as he avg just 5.

Wood went 2-8 from the field against OSU, and his two buckets (as reported in the missolian) were on drives. His jumper is, what's the Foreigner song? "Cold as ice"

I'm pulling for ya, come'on Jordan. :

From the Missoulian:

Cherry had three 3-pointers and the Griz were 6 of 17 from downtown after going 5 for 25 in the loss at San Francisco.

"At USF we couldn't throw it in the ocean to save our life," Cherry said. "This game we were knocking down shots left and right from outside. When we did that, they had no answer for us."

Qvale said it was great to get the win in front of a season-best crowd.

"It was a big win and we had a great crowd tonight," Qvale said. "I would love for that to continue every night. They helped us win that game."
