"I wouldn't say (the recruiting process) was too stressful," Flowers said. "I didn't have a ton of looks. I had to communicate with coaches ... so I found a way to enjoy it."
After passing for 3,009 yards and 37 touchdowns, Flowers was named SBLive Idaho's all-state offensive player of the year in 2022.
There are some indirect family ties to Montana: Dad, Aaron - who is Rigby's offensive coordinator - once set the Cal State Northridge single-game passing mark against the Grizzlies in 1996.
A few years later, Aaron was hired as the quarterbacks coach at Montana State University - the Grizzlies' hated in-state rival.
This Montana coaching staff obviously liked what it saw from the younger Flowers, giving him a scholarship offer in early April. Two months later, the all-state quarterback decided to call Missoula his next home.
"It's in a beautiful spot," Flowers said. "I love the culture, coaching staff and tradition.
"Once they showed interest, I fell in love with everything about the place."

No freeway between Coeur d'Alene and Boise. You take US-95 through places like Grangeville, Riggins, etc. Most of it two lanes and some stretches with not a lot of shoulder ... and lots of bends, grades, etc. Much of it is absolutely beautiful country, but you don't want to be in any kind of hurry.AZGrizFan said:

Talked to my buddy in boise. He follows football very closely and watches the Griz and Big Sky too. He said we would be getting an absolute steal in this kid. He said he had been hoping boise state would land him and can’t believe he is gonna be a Griz instead. He said he will be absolutely dominant in the Big Sky. Fingers crossed we keep him!

I coached wrestling in Kamiah Idaho and to get to the state tournament we went through Montana as well. Much better roads and Butte let us practice when we stayed ther on the way to that quonset in southern Idaho.AZGrizFan said:
Having spent a decade in south central Idaho as a coach, we saw Rigby a ton at the 4A level. Rigby has benefited from the demographic changes in the Idaho Falls area and the out migration of Idaho Falls itself to the hinter lands. Rigby had highly successful football programs at 4A but rarely translated into state titles. Their head coach was new to the program, came from Century in Pocatello, and was able to catch lightning in the bottle with the team last year. They aren't likely to be AS good depth wise this year, but with Flowers at QB he's going to create a ton of problems.
Scheduling is a mess in Idaho and eastern 5A/4A programs used to saddled with travel to the pandhandle because 5A and 4A treasure valley schools (Boise) used to have this 9 game conference rule that basically ensured they never traveled outside of the valley. Also why Lake City and CdA high school school used to play Spokane Valley and Missoula schools quite often because of limited availability of games against schools of similar size. Still the issue really for Lake City and Cda as it is still a 4 team conference most years (CdA, LC, PF and Lewiston) and even more acute problem for Sandpoint and Lakeland as 4A schools. So if they want to fill out their schedule with just Idaho schools they'd have to schedule 3A schools and 5A schools.
So it is always difficult to get a bead on eastern 4A/5A and northern teams because they have a lot of teams on their schedule that give you zero indication as to how good they were when it comes to playoff time. Now that the state has emphasized using Max prep rankings rather than dedicated regional allotments beyond the top teams in each district it has forced 5A teams to schedule a bit differently than they used to.
