This is your padded room ladies and gents. Air your grievances large or small here. Petty? Absolutely. Passive Aggressive? Bring it. Hold a grudge because you were asked to move from the student section in thirty years ago by then Athletic Director Bill Moos? Of course this is in jest, but just trying to lighten the mood a bit.

Here you go. I feel like some of us just need to get some things off our chest. Express our feelings. We are a bit edgy.

Just keep it plausibly civil, non-offensive, and rid yourself of your negativity. Exorcise your Demons.

Enjoy GF24

Happy Festivus!

At least someone picked up on the reference.

I really toyed with having a picture on the OP with Frank Constanza on it. Decided to go with subtlety.

For a real Festivus miracle you should add an aluminum pole and include some feats of strength!

My other, resistance of changing things up.

Examples:
Going to more zone defenses, when needed.
Limiting rotation to 7 or 8 players.
Too much reliance on a half court game, on both ends.
Not enough motion, cuts, and "contact" screens. We basically set "air/ space" screens. Meaning no contact to very little contact.
Not enough emphasis and focus on big recruitment and development.
Commity relations push. Meaning, let the community get to know the coaches and team better. I really miss Tinkle's personality and friendly approach with the public.

As for the players, I'll use Owens as an example. The guy is a terrific personality, always happy, very personable, yet not many knew him. Then again, much of that could be covid related precautions.

This off season, I'm going to be paying attention as to how many bigs we pursue, or are we just going to add more 6'1" to 6'6" wings? IF, we add more wings, I want to see more emphasis on pressure and open up the offense.

Thank you

I'd add this: It's become apparent that TD recruits two kind of big men: Those that go P-5 or to higher end schools like Pepperdine or San Diego State, and those that are projects. There appears to be no in between and no ability to develop bigs...the # of 6'10" and above players who've rotated through the program in the past 5 years is ridiculous to the point of comical. He's also demonstrated the inability or lack of patience to actually DEVELOP those projects, so I would recommend he bring in a coach who specializes in that. Travis is, for all intents and purposes, a "guard" guy, which of course makes sense. But a man's got to know his limitations, and bringing in a coach who specializes in developing big men might make one or two of these "projects" stick around long enough to actually develop to the point of being productive.
