2018 Schedule
September 1st VS. N.Iowa-W

September 15th @ Western Illinois-L
September 22nd VS. Sacramento State-W
September 29th @ Cal Poly-W
October 6th VS. Portland State-W

October 20th BYE
October 27th VS. UC Davis-W
November 3rd @ Southern Utah-L
November 10th @ Idaho-W
November 17th VS. Montana State-W
My Prediction: 9-2. All eyes will be on Coach Hauck in his first seaon back at the helm for the Griz. Will it take a little bit of rebuilding, or can Coach Hauck jump right back in and put the Griz in the Big Sky title hunt? The Big Sky previews are back. We will start with the Griz and then go in alphabetical order. I'll have Cal Poly's up later. That'smy prediction, how about you guys?

I think we are a 7-4 team....maybe 8-3 if we get a couple lucky bounces. But I feel we will only trend up from here.

Would it kill you to reach out to Bama to get some stats to turn into graphs?

Right now you’re on par with Brent.

And you think my predictions are unrealistic? Why do you do this to yourselves? I can promise you, when you look at the following eight games, there is no way in hell you win them all.

I'd say that's more realistic. I think I had you going 5-3 in those games but splitting hairs here. Hard to get a read on UND and Idaho, and you know at least one of the CA teams will jump up and surprise.

Sorry but I’m working on my Softball Season in Review Theseus now and don’t have time for football.

Oh, and 7-4 and that’s with the maroon glasses off.

Would it shock you all that privately to friends Bobby predicts 3 wins?

Without bringing in multiple key transfers ready to play he might be correct....probably one specific person getting an injury away from being screwed, and still huge depth issues at other positions with a bunch of scholarships sitting on the table. I will make my predictions after that window closes

I m saying most likely 3-5 but could easily be 6-2 without injuries affecting key players. I think depth at a lot of positions on both sides is going to be a factor as the season wears on and attrition starts to bleed the team. On the other hand it’s just as likely they go 9-3 or better. Such a tough thing to predict without being biased.

New staff and system trying to fit existing players into new positions is a pretty sketchy. Team chemistry with staff and new qb and new team leaders all have to gel. I’m hoping for the 9-3 but realIze 5-7 or 6-6 is more likely. Transisition years are not good predictors for the new program. Bad season, blame it on old coach and “his” players. And if you have a good season new coach gets the credit for molding the players he inherited into his system. Either one wouldn’t be very accurate indicator of where they really are.

Classic Hauck. Lower expectations and then try like heck to exceed them. They will easily win 3.5 games.

I think everyone is pretty excited to see what coach Hauck is going to do with this bunch. I don't see a game on the schedule they can't win but I see a lot of tough games on the schedule for sure. I like that they don't have to play NAU or EWU in the conference play and they have MSU at home. Western Illinois, Idaho, and SUU will all be very tough road games. I think they will win 8 games next year.

It could be worse.
"Boy, that was a tough situation to come into," said Kramer. "We had very few fans, not many boosters and little support from our administration. It did not help all but four seniors left the program in February prior to the season. Of those four remaining seniors only two started." -- from Pat Kearney's "The Divide War: Montana's Golden Treasure."
