Looks like a lot of good depth there. Lets hope some of those kids become stars.
 
What is the best guess on these young men making it as a Griz? 25% - 50%? Of course I hope they all make it but we must wait and see. Each year for the past 30 years I have tried to figure out which kid would make it and make it big. Yes I have been wrong more than I will admit but I always see things I love and then for one reason or other that kid ends up not playing at all.
I know this is all part of the game but I still love it. All of these young men have a great chance of making it and some will.

If a walk-on performs consistently better in practice and then shines on the field at game-time, can he take away a scholarship from an individual who was brought here with one? Or does he have to wait until someone graduates to a scholarship?

Scholarships are good for one year. They start sometime in June. To my knowledge, the only way a scholarship can free up after that is if a player chooses to leave school. Then the coaches can distribute that scholarship as they fell fit.

A good example is Nick Emerson. Wayne Tinkle granted him a scholarship for the year, after GRIZ basketball lost one of the players offered a scholarship.
