2014 Griz Football Recruiting (10 Signed /15 Formal admission)

I don't think David has any intentions on decommiting, but NDSU did offer him when he was there so there's always that possibility

It's probably the ol that committed to the cats from Minnesota

It was David Reese.

Well if we lose both Ross & Reese this class is officially a big fat pffffftttttt.

This.

Yeah because after them, we have no other options. Robert Smith on ESPN had a great analogy. Texas has their choice of 5 star recruits. They are just picking the wrong ones. They had the option to get RG3, Johnny Manziel, and Jameis Winston and the chose someone else. Sometimes the guy you pick isn't as good as the guy you end up with.

Possible walk on Joseph Sanchez 6-1 225 LB

I don't know how to to say this exactly...but I'm hoping the recruits that come here are grateful to part of Griz nation. We don't need any prima donnas out for themselves. Yeah we need lockdown corners and mammoth OL guys. Blah blah blah. Give me a kid with heart who feels like he has to prove himself every time he takes the field. No whiney wafflers who can't keep their commitment cause a shitty FBS school came a knocking. We want a team united, not stat checkers and pretty boys who can't keep commitments.

Update on the Offers list according to Rivals:

Juwan Jones (Commited to New Mexico)
Xavier Crawford (Commited to San Diego State)
Hawkins Mann (Commited to Nevada) ( His 4th different commitment, Montana, Boise State, San Diego State and now Nevada, lets see how long this one lasts.
Cj Spencer (Commited to UC Davis)

Is that 225 pounds, or 225 lb Linebacker?

Either way, his bio says he runs the 40 in 5.76.

I'm 51 years old and I think I could run a 40 in 5.76.

At 51, thinking you can do it is the easy part, its the actual doing it that might give ya trouble.

Mr. Nemec, congrats on your son going to Carroll, it's a great program and a great school, and yes, coach Van Diest is a great coach. To clarify something though, Carroll doesn't win the NAIA national title year-after-year. That statement implied that the Saints win it every single season. The Saints last won a chipper in 2010, and in fact, didn't even qualify for the NAIA playoffs a year ago. Coach Van Diest is currently in his 13th season at CC and has six national titles. Very impressive. I know him personally, and am a big fan of his, but six titles in 13 years, while amazing, is NOT "year after year".

Secondly, and I'll never understand this, why do parents have to put down other athletes in order to talk about their own? Why can't you just tell us how good of a player your son is without calling current Griz recruits and current players 'inferior"?

Thanks for the lecture pal..but if you are trying to put Coach Van Diest's accomplishments in some sort of "context" after 6 national titles in 13 season…it doesn't wash. In the game of football, his accomplishments are nothing short of incredible and it doesn't happen by accident. I'm telling you the guy knows EXACTLY what he's doing and what to look for. Obviously.

Secondly, I never put ANY Griz recruits down. I said that "some" kids get "looks" based on their teams accomplishments. Unless you've experienced this first hand, you may not know what I'm talking about. I experienced it as a player and as an Uncle. Who you know, who writes about you, who your dad is, who your brother is (or isn't) and how well your team did all plays into it. Big time.

Regardless, we are thrilled about Carroll and are very happy for any kid getting a scholarship anywhere (these days). If my honest take offends you?…so sorry.

That must be why the Griz always take someone from the "Power House" hellgate knight team?
Probably because of there decades of tradition and consistent seasonal records and because they have a really cool mascot and team colors?

Email the recruiting coordinator. Can find here: http://www.umt.edu/directory/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . Posting stuff here isn't going to get to him. Also fill out a questionnaire at the athletic site.

Posted a while ago Chris Williams holds an offer from montana but was never added so I thought I'd repost... Also has an offer from Fresno state in baseball. Read if he does play football he won't be a QB though

Haven't heard that about Alex Thomas. That would be unfortunate if true. Any word on why he would decommit?
