2014 Griz Football Recruiting (10 Signed /15 Formal admission)

The Cats' site says that both the GRIZ and cats were going after a linebacker from Bozeman named Collins. They list him as having an offer from both schools but Payton does not have him on a list of offers we have made. Who's right? I assume you are Payton. They say this kid is tall and thin but a beast and will put on weight. Has he committed anywhere yet?

I usually wait until it is posted on a recruiting site, newspaper or legit social media.

That being said, I have no doubt the Griz have offered him, but I bet he goes to Boise State.

Considering the 'Number of Recruits Offered' I count fifteen; you have '16' listed.

Any idea on what position Kia Ross is coming in to play? I'd love to see him developed at Safety. If we could add Keenan Curran alongside Kia Ross at the Safety positions I would be an extremely happy Griz fan. I think we have good young talent at depth at CB now and really need to focus on the safety position, especially if Straham and Gamboa are going to be playing LB. Not sure if Gamboa's move is permanent or not, but he seems to be finding a niche at LB with Addison Owen hurt.

Strahm, Gamboa & Kose (if he styas heathy) will be all conference LB's in 2 years.

Wasn't Gamboa an OLB in high school? Between him and Straham's ability to cover the pass and use their speed (along with lebsock and owens) at OLB and Schye and Kose coming downhill at MLB I think our LB's are in much better shape than most think. Tons of talent and athletic ability at that position. Really pulling for Kose to come back healthy.

I am really intrigued by Kia Ross at Safety. It's been awhile since we've had safeties who can really make plays on the ball and have lots of speed and range to cover. Really keeping my fingers crossed that we add Keenan Curran to the back end of our D as well.

It would be great to have his guy in the Griz backfield.

Whether we recruit in Arkansas or not; your son, player, whatever should contact the U of Montana to register interest in playing for the Griz. Here's a link to help you along: https://www.cyberquestlive.com/school/montanafb/ Best of luck to Corey!

Schye more ideally projects to OLB, much in the mold of Tripp. With Kose's health history, I argue we are seriously exposed to replace Coyle at MLB. We need a JC transfer to bridge the gap, even if Kose were able to get himself ready to play.

Any other committments cuz recruiting is going slow, don't we usually get commits during december?

True and false. We actually have a lot of verbals for this stage of the game and with our loss of scholarships, we are almost there anyways. Also, one of the complaints of past coaches regarding the playoffs is that it does give the teams not in the playoffs a headstart. I always thought that was counteracted by the positive publicity and TV exposure of being in the playoffs.
