I don't know how this is going to turn out but this looks like the worst recruiting class I have ever seen for the Griz, really disappointing. I would think we could do a lot better then this..... I hope I am wrong but not looking that way.

You must evaluate high school football players or be a high school recruiting guru with your keen insight...I am also curious as to why you think the Griz could do better than you seem to think they are?

Perhaps it's because they've done better in the past?

Based on what? Recruiting classes can't truly be evaluated till you see how they end up. We have had what we thought were awesome classes that have had over 50% attrition rate. Some of our biggest classes have lost the most players. Classes with over 20 recruits often have the highest attrition rate. Players transfer, quit, or never see the field.

Granted, on paper, this does not look like a glamorous class, but if you look at last years class, it was high on skill players and low on linemen and linebackers. This class fills that need and also looks like we got some players even from out of state to take partials or even walk on. Given the small graduating class, loss of scholarships, and scholarships given to players already on the roster, this class APPEARS to fill areas that will need to be addressed when they are ready to play.

That being said, none of us know the true value of this class till they start hitting the field on Saturdays.

saw that Caleb lyons tweeted saying he's going to play slot reciever/running back and do some returning. guess he won't play any safety like some thought

Excited for the kid, but I still think he'd make a good safety.

Billings Gazette has an article about Shayne Cochran from Culbertson committing to the Griz. So, if he hasn't been officially added to the list, I suppose we can add another recruit. Going to be a lb for Montana.

That's at least two projected recruits to the linebacker position that were star running-backs for their respective high schools: Shayne Cochran (6'1" 210 lbs.) 1,580 rushing yards with 28 TDs for Culbertson High; Josh (Jon) Buss (6'3" 185 lbs.) 1,939 rushing yards with 25 TDs for Mountain View High in Meridian, Idaho.

With Wilson, Counts & Hagfors being juniors next season I don't suppose running-back to be open for incoming freshmen too much. Though I do recall at one time that a recruit came in as a projected defensive-back and was switched to running-back after joining the Griz and helped out quite well on offense with the name of Yohance Humphrey, so one never knows.

Counts is expected to apply for a medical redshirt and Wilson and Hagfors are fullbacks, not running backs. But with Canada and Van both being seniors next year, and Nguyen and Flowers backing them up and Counts back in 2015 we're probably set at RB for the next several years.

If he tweeted he was being recruited at safety, he would probably be moved to linebacker at some point.

I read on twitter that Manu Rasmussen has committed to the U of M. Wondering what position he will play?

I have decommitted from EWU, a first class program. With that being said I have committed to the University of Montana! #grizznation

Looking at Northwest elite index web site states David Reese only has an offer from NDSU and does not mention UM. I'm hoping he's still committed to us. Welcome to the Griz Manu!

Also noticed that Manu Rasmussen has a photo of Wash-Griz Stadium on his Twitter page.
