2014 Griz Football Recruiting (10 Signed /15 Formal admission)

Sought-after dual-threat 2-star QB CJ Spencer has given a Verbal Commit to UC Davis last night. Spencer had Offers from UM, UNLV, Army, Cal Poly, UC Davis and others. Following Coach Gould's surprising 4th-place finish (the Aggies were picked to finish 11th), this is a nice pickup for the Aggies.

CJ Spencer ‏"@CJForSIX 14h Its Official! I'm committing to UC Davis! GO Aggies!"

Here's the known offers still out there. Who, on this list, would you call a "must get"? Who would "make" the class? Because at this point I'm not over-the-moon about this recruiting class so far...

Cross CJ Spencer off that list, he committed to UC Davis last night.

Kai Ross had a helluva game over the weekend:

Football athlete of the week: Kai Ross, Huntington Beach

Ross had a day he will never forget in Saturday’s CIF-SS Southwest Division final. He completed 10 of 12 passes for 219 yards and three touchdowns. He rushed for 90 yards on 11 carries and returned two interceptions for touchdowns in the 42-28 victory over Newport Harbor.

WOW his coach not doing us any favors with his comments but I have to agree with him. Kai Ross shows some big time potential in these clips. Would love to see our coaches develop this kid as a Free Safety! Nice work Kai! Please keep your commitment to the "DB U" of FCS! You could be the next Tru, Colt or Shann if you stick with us! :thumb:

After watching the video and reading his twitter a bit, it seems to me that his coach is really in his ear about playing "D-1" which could explain Kai's interest in Idaho. Might be a case of a HS coach trying to pad his own stats by pushing his kids to any program as long as its FBS. Those 3 letters (FBS) can honestly be the only reason a kid would pick the dumpster fire that is Idaho over UM in my opinion. Best of luck to Kai if he de-commits.

BAHHHHAAAAAAAA, Nike, if you don't think the staff has been recruiting as hard as ever and as hard as every other Griz' staff of the past, you're nutts and your agenda is transparent. Nothing has changed with how hard the Griz are recruiting EXCEPT for the fact that the program must reduce its scholarship number by two for the 2014 season. The Griz were using 61 schollies in 2013, and have to be down to 59 for the 2014 year. Actually, eight verbals for an FCS before Christmas break is ALOT.

Very much agreed!

Haha, if Kai switches to Idaho I'd question his logic. There's saying you play D-1 and then there's saying you play for Idaho :?

It was David Reese.

Well if we lose both Ross & Reese this class is officially a big fat pffffftttttt.
