6'3" great size if he does play DB but with the 3 coming in I bet he plays safety or WR

This sucks, not because we did not get him, but because EWU gets another damn big WR. They are the FCS factory for big talented WR's. It makes sense why a big WR would go there though.

Last days thoughts...

Is UM waiting for one to decide and the other is out?
LB- Michael Carlson 6'2" 206 (Bellevue HS) Bellevue, WA (+msu)
LB- Mitch Lomax 6'4" 230 (Lake Oswego HS) Lake Oswego,OR (+PSU)

Possible prefered walk-on?

Possible grey shirt?
RB- J.J. Husar 6'0" 190 4.45 (Desert Ridge HS) Mesa, AZ (Just UM)

Has this offer been pulled because of all the WR/DB types that verbaled?
WR-Ryan Pascarella 6'1" 185 (Centenial HS) Corona, CA (Just UM)

Really quiet on these guys...

We snagged a big time RB yesterday too...

4-star running back committed to Cal, decommits and then signs with EWU. Does this throw up a red flag for anyone else.............

Seriously....there are tons to questions that begged to be asked.

My understanding: he is a prop 48 recruit that the EWU staff got very close to by helping him through the NCAA clearinghouse.

Cal pulled their offer believing he wouldn't qualify academically. Sounds like EWU came in and helped him get through the NCAA clearinghouse and he felt loyal to them. Looks like a good pickup if he can stay eligible.

This is along the same lines of how Twain Jones ended up at EWU. I am all for EWU giving kids a chance to succeed at football, the classroom and life.

It's not too hard to stay eligible at EWU.

It's not very difficult to remain eligible at UM either. :coffee:

EWU takes a chance on a couple PROP 48 kids every year, some work out, some don't, but they are giving the kids a chance that other schools wont. I'm not positive DJ. Martin will be a Prop, but its my best guess as to why he is coming to EWU. He was in Cheney this weekend and things went really well and he gave his verbal yesterday.

Just curious as I honestly don't know, do the Griz take on Prop 48 kids? I know academics are pretty good at UM and I know a lot of schools don't take on Prop's for that reason.

Marc--I don't know the full answer to that but heard Pflu discuss EWU's advantage in recruitment because they can take some kids that UM can't due to scholastics. I don't know for sure if UM does or doesn't ever accept prop 48 kids.
