Cody Vitt commits to the Cats!
Last time I checked this was a recruiting thread for the Griz. Also I'm fairly sure most people on here don't give a shit who the cats get. Or I might be speaking for myself. Either way cat recruits don't need to be posted. Go post it on bobcat nation. I understand your program looks for a pat on the back every chance they get but, it's old and annoying.

Yep, I know it ruins your day when you see the Cats totally dominating in sate recruiting this year.

You've got eight we've got five, I'm not sure I'd call that "dominating"...btw, by your measure we "dominated" in-state-recruiting last year... ;)

Don't mind jcu. He's a little cranky. I think MSU did win the in-state battle this year, but overall, it looks like a pretty fair recruting year for the Griz.

I agree. It looks like a good year for the Griz.

Eight plus Tanner Roderick, Connor Thomas and Monte Folsom. And, it's not done yet!

One's a transfer, the other two are from prior recruiting classes so no, they are not part of this year's freshman recruiting class, but go ahead and twist the facts anyway you want, that seems to be a cat trait anyway...

No doubt MSU appears to have won the in state recruiting battle this year. I do think the Griz lost out on a few players they really wanted and then several other players that they lightly recruited (who may be great players at some point). In the end, I think the Griz got some even better out of state talent. I am also extremely happy with the Griz class, including some very talented transfers that are worth the gamble.

Following is a list of MSU's in state recruits. The red highlighted ones are the players the Griz heavily recruited. The big loss, in my opionion, is Roderick. If JJ does not return, it would have been a great opporutunity for this gifted athlete to walk into.

Gunnar Brekke, Helena, ATH - Griz wanted him to most likely play running back or corner. They will be signing Tre Favors instead at running back and Ryan McKinley at corner. As much as they wanted Brekke, I think these players are better gets at their position, likely not better overall athletes, though.

Luke Daly, Billings (Central), P/K

Ben Folsom, Dillon, 6-2, 190, WR/S

Devin Jeffries, Kalispell (Glacier), DE

Dylan Mahoney, Great Falls (CMR), OT - Griz wanted him, but knew the odds were long with his bobcat allegiance.

Quinn McQueary, Manhattan, QB - Griz wanted him to play safety. They will be signing Conner Strahm instead and I think that is a better get.

Jacob Stanton, Billings (Central), WR

Trevan Timmer, Great Falls (GF High), LB

Cody Vitt, Fairview, RB

Tanner Roderick, Bozeman (Univ. of Nevada), QB/WR - Griz wanted him to play QB and this would have been a huge addition to the recruiting class if JJ does not return. This is the one that may have the biggest impact.

No you are wright. I don't give a rats ass about the kittens.

96....don't think Roderick was anything to write home about. Third stringer at Nevada-Reno..not so much....

m.s.u. has also won the out of state recruiting battle. hands down. as far as out of state goes favors is no lasane. mckinley is no price. those are, according to the poll in another thread, two of the best three gets. the other is strahm, who i'd take at safety over m.s.u.'s best safety pickup garcia, but not by much.

we have them in transfers, narrowly.

I would take the Bobcats class over ours. And if you havent taken the time to watch video of MSU's recruits, please don't respond.

The point is I personally don't care about the msu recruits or anything else about the cats. If you like them so much go to bozeman on Saturdays and watch them develop.

Comparing recruiting classes, at this point, is a bit pointless. I thought that was generally understood. IMO, the only purpose the discussion serves is to pass time until spring ball starts.
