2013 Griz Football Class Signed (24)

Sammy Long was at CSU on Friday, the last of his four visits.

He received an offer from Utah, but lists them as LOW INTEREST.

Makes me wonder what the big schools look for in a player? There is no reason in the world a player with that kind of physical make up should not be on scholarship at BCS school. Great size and speed for safety.

I am hoping he chooses the GRIZ!

The Seattle Times annual blue, red and white chip list of college football prospects in the State of Washington:

The blue chip list only had two prospects, Max Browne of Skyline, who is headed to USC as the #1 rated QB prospect in the country and Myles Jack from Bellevue who is headed to UCLA as a linebacker.

Two white chip prospects headed to Montana.

So I've heard rumors the Hansor kid from Billings Central is headed to Washington State. Has that been confirmed anywhere? I'm surprised there hasn't been more written about him.

According to a frien of mine in Billings, he still has not chosen between Wazzu, Wyoming and the Griz. That was about a week ago though for whatever that's worth.

Any idea why UW pulled its offer to Sammie Long? I know the kid played with two broken thumbs his senior year, but still.

Do we even have enough scholarships left to sign another player?

Knowing that scholarships are year-to-year, and nothing is set in stone for next season, I would assume that the Griz could still find scholarship money for the right kid.

Gee...Pullman, Laramie or Missoula. Yeah, THAT'S a tough choice. :)

I am biased, but I still vividly remember our trip to Laramie in '97 to watch us play Wyoming. Laramie: one armpit of Wyoming !!! The other: Rawlins.

I know The Univesity of Wyoming is a good school, but I kept wondering why people in Laramie kept recommending restaurants in Fort Collins, Colorado instead of ones in their hometown.

After my friend developed food posioning after eating at one of Laramie's finest restaurants and puked in their parking lot, my question was quickly answered.

Missoula and Bozeman have it hands down over Laramie. Pullman is a little better, but it's a little farming town on The Palouse dominated by a university many times it's size. I can understand why coaches have trouble recruiting in Pullman and especially in Laramie.

If comparing just the towns, it's a no brainer. If comparing facilities, Wyo and Wazzou are heads and shoulders above UM.
