One of the articles on Curtis White explained that he was offered a five year scholarship from Oregon. Some scholarships are one year, but apparently a 5-star recruit ranked as one of the best preps in the country gets a better deal than that.
If he's coming to Montana, the Griz must have offered him a similar deal. Then again, he has 2010, '11 and '12 paid for now. He might be closing in on graduate school. White enrolled in June classes as an incoming freshman.

I think this is a phenomenal class, based on what our expectations were. Even in a normal year, this would be a surprisingly good class.
Ryan McKinley and Tre Favors really cemented that, in my opinion.
And those whining about us not taking any linemen, we're set at both positions for the foreseeable future. Like someone else said, our athletes were the major weakness last year; defensive secondary and wide receivers especially. We've got insanely good running back depth for the next four years covered, we've added enough high talent to retool our secondary that, hopefully, will become as consistent and dominant as our front 7, and loaded our WR corps with promising guys that could impact immediately, all in one class.
It may not be "The Best Class Ever™", but I have no problem calling it "Scary Good, Considering".

Pretty sure Sammie Long is going to Nevada Reno......Just received an offer.
The Griz need to start recruiting a great defensive lineman from Aloha, OR named Michael Kluge. This kid is a freak of nature...... too short for IA but he holds the national bench press record of 440 lbs. for his age group! He is only 5'10", but weighs 290 lbs. He has been dominating offensive linemen going to IA schools in camps. Can you imagine him at NT clogging up the running game? Here is an article on him. He wants to play in the Big Sky.

I would guess that the Montana coaches already know about Mike, but if you have an interest in him getting recruited Special K(luge?). I recommend emailing the recruiting coordinator and d-line coach...for we are just fans and have no say in the matter... to the chagrin of some on this board.

I don't care about height too much in a defensive tackle. One of the best interior defensive lineman I ever saw play was JoeFat. Joe Kalafat. He was shorter than 5'10", but quick off the ball and powerful. I remember the Oregon offensive linemen singing his praises after they beat us 35-30 one year. They were saying how they had underestimated him because of his height, but commented about how he was quicker and tougher to block than most of the D tackles they had played against in the pac 10.
One thing I really like about this player is the way he is able to translated his powerlifting experience to the field. He is explosive, understands leverage, and how to use these tools to his advantage. He is very strong for a high school kid and couples that strength with explosive quickness and a low center of gravity to create a distinct advantage vs taller, less agile offensive linemen. He has the potential to be a very good run-stopper on the D-line. His lack of height limits his abilities as a pass rusher, though his quickness off of the ball provided some advantage. He also showed some fairly good D-line moves (swim technique, etc) albeit vs h.s. linemen. If there is room for him in this class, I'd be happy to see him added as a recruit, despite his height limitations.

He would jump at a chance to play for the Grizzlies. You do not want to try to block him playing for Portland State or Weber State. Rather have him on your side of the ball. Wyoming may offer, and he may go there if the offer comes.
