Watch the offense that Capital High of Boise runs. It is very much the same as we ran with Robin here. This kid is the coaches son and is pretty football smart. I think he brings a lot of intangibles. He can throw the ball accurately, can run and I like the fierce competitor aspect that he brings to the table. I hope he honors his verbal commitment. He will be interesting to watch to see how he fares.

The fact that he is athletic and threw for 68% completion percentage (a lot of downfield throws) says a ton for me.

You think that he is actually that good? he runs around and gets everybody to come up field and his guys blow by the defensive backs as they're running towards the line of scrimmage. It's easy to complete 68% of your passes when guys are wide open. There's no way he will be able to run around like that in the big sky. If you honestly think that you're kidding yourself. The 3 guys we have right now are all head and shoulders better than him.

1) Why are you being a c@ck Gobbler?

2) Yeah he could be good.

3) That's usually what happens when your receivers run great routs, get open, and your QB hits them.

4) Of course "there's not way he will be able to run around like that in the big sky"......Idiot.

5)Simis > SSH....... already
Simis < TM in running the ball
Simis > TM in passing.....this cannot be argued, and it isn't even close.
Comparing Simis to Berzerker is a moot point because Berzerker never got a f***!ng chance.
I like Gus so far

I leave JJ out because.......well just because I don't see him coming back.

Assuming all 5 QB stick around for 2013 it should be a good battle, and should boil down to Gus, Berzerker, and TM.

Simis should RS
SSH should move on if he wants playing time.

please explain to me how i'm being a "c@ck gobbler"?
all i was saying was his tools are impressive in a high school program but that doesn't mean he will be good at Montana i just wouldn't be suprised if he never played? teams in the big sky are far to disciplined to let someone do what he did to that team and if you think he's better then SSH already you're out of your mind, the position isn't just about your arm strength or how fast you are. SSH made top notch FBS level decisions already.

Get the F#ck out of here! Are you effing with me? " SSH made top notch FBS level decisions already" You have got to be trolling.

Dont get me wrong man, I am all for seeing SSH play well. This just isn't level he should be playing at. He got flat out lucky he got to take meaningful snaps for the Griz this year. If JJ doesn't get into a horrible situation, JJ is the starter, TM is backup, and SSH is 3rd string or even deeper on the chart.

Sorry for saying you gobble c@cks.

I have taken part in de-railing the thread. My bad. Carry on folks.

name one time you saw him make an outright bad decision?
if you think this kid is the answer you're an idiot, and this arguement had nothing to do with JJ. He's obviously the starter if he comes back, that's not even a question.

Arguing with a college bound qb over what it takes to be a qb. Yeah, I'm sure your dumb a$$ knows more than Dylan.

I never said Simis was "the answer", Shay. :thumb:

SSH had my full support, as does every Griz player. But FBS quarterback??? Really???
i didn't say FBS quarterback i said he made FBS level decisions. He doesn't have a good enough arm to be an FBS quarterback and he's too small.

Umm...6-4, 210 isn't too small to play quarterback in the FBS....IF you're actually GOOD!!!! Have you seen Johnny Manziel? I'm sorry, but after the performances against Weber and MSU, mentioning SSH and FBS together is laughable. And FTR, I like Shay, I truly hope he improves, but there was GOOD reason why with TM AND SSH at the helm, the Griz tried to be a run heavy team...The passing game was ATROCIOUS for all 11 games this season.

they need to improve the passing game a lot, in a lot of different areas. They actually need to mix up the routes more then they do. The real reason they were a run heavy team and could get away with it is they had 3 guys who could go for 100+ week in and week out which they can't get away with next year.

I respectfully disagree. The Griz would have thrown more even with a good running game if they had ONE accurate QB. Period. I'm sorry, it appears you're a friend of SSH or possibly a family a member. BUT the wide receivers were NOT at fault this season. All they did was block their asses off all season long knowing very few balls were going to come their way, because the QB situation was a mess. The routes were the same as last year, and the Griz offense caught fire by the midway point, BECAUSE, they had a reliable to good QB running the show.

I can promise you that Dylan is not a friend nor a family member of SSH. I know this cause he is my kid, but you need to READ what he posts before you respond. He was not defending SSH as much as saying he was what we had so we had to go with and that Simis is NOT the answer we need nor is he better than SSH. The routes may have been the same but the play calling put them in a HORRIBLE position. Why in the hell would we run 4 vertical routes on 3rd and 3 or 4? Yet we did it at least 5 times that I can think of.

Oh no! I don't think it was the receivers fault at all. I just think they go from 5-10 yard passes, skip 15-30 yard passes and go straight to throwing flat out bombs I think a mobile and accurate quarterback would completely change our offense and make us an a lot better team. The receivers are flat out play makers and I love what I'm seeing out of some of the younger receivers.

We are giving a kid a scholarship who wasn't even Honorable Mention All-State? I've never seen the kid play or heard of him, so maybe he is worthy... Sits wrong with me though that Delaney is giving his grandson a scholarship when he really hasn't stood out at the HS level...

Delaney is as good as any MT HS WR I saw in 2012. I saw him and his other Hawk co-horts lose to state champion Butte High twice (Weyer once). Delaney was a weapon for Bozeman in both games. Covering his books is a SMART DECISION!

I hear the ncaa is investigating a rumor that coach delaney has been giving this, recruit holiday and birthday gifts for quite some time. ;)
my sources tell me that free doughnuts were also involved! :D

Kendrick Bourne Says Goodbye To Prep Football And Milwaukie Fans

He is the best story of the year by many accounts. The City kid who decided to leave the PIL behind and try out the Milwaukie Arts Academy is all done with his High School Football career. And he went out in style having a huge night for the Milwaukie Mustangs.

Before the night was over Bourne would go over 200 yards receiving and have 2 TD's and several big catches. On the season he had 1,296 yards and 18TD's and averaged an eye popping 32 yards per catch.

His talent found a home with first year Head Coach Don Johnson and the Mustangs who lost the game to Churchill 41-20 last night but who finished 7-3 after being 1-9 last season. That folks is the story within the story. And so is Bourne.

The kid was broken, failing school, and on the verge of dropping out saved himself this year by moving to Milwaukie. He talked with us about that and his transformation at his new schools. We also spoke about his offer from Idaho and a possible offer to PSU and beyond. This kid tells the story of why we need to re-evaluate the way we teach and the way we work with our young people. How does he go from a drop out failing kid getting trouble to a kid on the Honor Roll and ready to take on the world?

Listen and he will tell you. He is clearly up for the Player of the Year if you judge it on and off the field. Way to go Bourne!
