Pretty sure he will play RB the source told me the reason he transferred from Marshall is because he was switched to CB, but looks like he could be a very good player. He was a 4 star athlete coming out of high school in San Diego and originally commited to Florida but ended up at Marshall.

If I remember right, he didn't qualify academically to go to Florida. You'll actually see that a lot of players who can't qualify academically go to Marshall, same thing happened with Kevin Grooms who was mentioned earlier in the article about Marshall (he signed with Miami originally).
Hopefully he'll be able to keep his grades in check if he does come here.

And I agree with "granitegriz" on Kirshner; I liked what I saw from what little chance he had, that he played Special Teams also as in on the kickoff return defense. Just wish he was given more chances; when he didn't have those I was wondering if there were injury issues unannounced. Counts looked pretty decent as well.

He takes the next step in the process this weekend when he will visit Montana with his teammate and Washington receiver commit Sammie Long. Russell wants to see if the Grizzlies’ program feels “welcoming.”
“I just want to go somewhere that’s welcoming,” he said. “A welcoming team is a building team and they can get better. That’s what I’m mainly looking for. Wherever I go is going to offer me great academic studies but, sports-wise, it’s the welcoming part.”
