2013 Griz Football Class Signed (24)

Does anyone know if the Griz are looking into the Saraceni kid from Senior? The kid is a beast. State champ in the 100 and 200 and he has one solid frame. His combination of size and speed reminds me of Lex. He already has over 1,000 yards rushing after just five games this season.

Nolan Saraceni is listed @ 5'11" and 195 lbs for Billings senior:

Along with all of that, I wouldn't mind it any if the Griz were recruiting a Cody Vitt, 6'1" 200 lbs RB out of Fairview, either: http://billingsgazette.com/sports/high-school/football/cody-vitt-leads-the-charge-for-stampeding-fairview-squad/article_41b31d25-9161-5479-b539-5c7cf34fdfb2.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

im sorry to say, the breke kid is a ligit player to recruit to u of montana, but the other kids on this list do not get to the talent level up to what eastern washington is now recruiting...we need to recruit better players than this, period, or the griz of the future will be middle of the row in the bsc....if you are objective, and do not look at this list with rose colored glasses ie. got to have kids from montana, you will agree..
montana let alone the single city of missoula doe not have that deep of talent and the city of missoula is way over represtented the last couple years as well as the talent that is produced in missoula...its the truth.....imo

Respctfully disagree. Not going to go through the statistics, but we've had a higher degree of sucess with our Montana players producing than our out of state recruits. Just look at our All-American list and list of NFL players. I seem to remember a similar attitude to us offering Reynolds and Schilliner schollys. Tuff Harris, Mariani, Anderson, Biermann were not considered great prospects for us, but to our staff's credit, we scouted the state very well and made them Grizzlies or gave them the opportunity to earn a scholarship. We've always recruited the best players in Montana and supplemented that with the best talent we can get from out of state. Because of this, we have among the best talent in the conference year after year.

Before you call me a homer. I will tell you that I played a little college football (albeit a small NAIA school in North Dakota) and played with athletes from several states (MN, ND, MT, SD, IL, CA, etc...). I've also lived in Oregon and now Idaho and have watched a lot of high school football, including playoff games in the highest divisions. I know the type of talent that is out there. I know that we have to build relationships out of state and recruit these players to maintain our talent level. However, we can't afford to lose a step to MSU in in-state recruiting. They have caught ground on us here and it has worked out to their benefit.

What are you talking about Krammer? Many of those with offers from the Griz also have offers from Mountain West teams or other FBS teams. That QB recruit, MS, is tearing it up this season. Give it some time. Griz had the best recruiting year of any BSC team and it will show in the next 3-4 years.

my bad for not wording my concern in a fashion that was clear...first and foremost i am a fan of montana kids over any other kid we may recruit from anywhere,,,what i meant to say is there are a handful each year that come from montana and a capable of being at this level...the biermans, mariannis, d. d., which are always sighted, but there are also the johnsons, dan moores of the world....tripp is a great example of a home town guy that could play anywhere , but my point is we have 10 players on the current roster from missoula alone and i don't think that missoula high schools have that deep of talent pool, those teams don't even win state championships for the most part, ... imo we need to go outside this thinking a little, and son't contiue to do something just because we have always done it that way.. escpecailly when you see the big sky conference cathing up to us in regards to talent...just look at the kitties and the texas connection with a line backer, qb, two running backs etc....sure there are exceptions one could point to, but overall i see the e. washintons, kitties, nau, portland state closing this talent gap in a hurry...i hope i am dead wrong ....and i am sure there are enough of you that will say so....go griz !!!

Mariani wasn't "sighted". Colt Anderson wasn't "sighted". They were walk-ons.

Personally I don't care where the talent comes from...as long as they're talented. If they're not, they won't see the field.

I saw Malta linebacker, tucker schye (sp?) committed. Sorry if already posted.

Chose UM over Carroll and north Dakota.

Another new offer VIA Rivals:

Anthony Davis ATH Saxton Rivers, VT

Paytonlives dont know if you have a new one but scout redid their system and it will not show the Griz anymore through the link so if you could please post a new link it would be much appreciated.
