i want what ever is best for brekke and wish him the best,,however, when the griz lose the best player out of the state, to our rival, it has to send some sort of message to griz nation.....this matters !!!! to say otherwise is shallow thinking...

Who said it didn't matter? Of course it matters. But you do realize Griz football will survive? You do realize the Cats haven't had a Gatorade Player of the Year in A LONGGGGG TIME, and yet they've somehow managed to put together a pretty good run here lately. Losing Brekke matters. But it's not life altering, for UM or MSU.

Has he committed to MSU? Or is he waiting for an FBS offer?

Please tell me what these words mean that you speak of Intoitbutnotacluegrizz...."ellicits" "trantrums"..
and the phrase "we have a conscious".....does that mean you're awake or just dUMb? Please tell me that you attended....but did not graduate that fine liberal arts school on the Clark's Fork. 8-)

SOUND THE ALARM :!: The bad-ass English Police is busting heads! Hide the women and children, for God's sake. :yikes:

Elicits and tantrums were obvious typos.

And conscience was the one blunder I made in that post that I will allow my self a couple seconds to be embarrased about. :thumb:

Not only is recruiting going really strong, but the current players are extremely focused on having a great 2013. Talk about a renewed commitment to excellence!

I mean let's face it, 3 decades of dominating football will eventually lead to a season of slacking/resting on your programs previous SUCCESS.

The Griz will rebound next season. I know, we've always (for decades) had the luxury of saying re-load, but we've finally had to say rebound.

Again I will state the Griz win more than 70% of their games in 2013. We have a good bunch of new players coming and we have a ton of good players in place waiting to bang the heck out of other teams. Our coaches have another season under them and will be more than ready. I can't wait!

This is great news for Montana and for Ari. The kid is a hard worker and great player but unfortunately was injured towards the beginning of the season, I'm sure he was bummed not only for having to miss the season but also for the hit on his recruiting. I was hoping Montana would still go after him and it looks like they did. The more stud Bellevue kids the Griz have the better, that powerhouse will continue to turn out excellent D1 players and this helps keep the pipeline open. One could dream that having these two (Morales and Nguyen) could sway Buddha Baker to Montana next year...but that kid is going Big Time - http://www.northwesteliteindex.com/player-rankings/year2014/washington/running-backs/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Hopefully they can help get Michael Carlson to commit tothe Griz. Congrats to Ari!

Good job Mick and staff. Not sure if we have any scholarship money left, but sure would be great if we could get a hard nosed JC transfer to play safety.

When I saw the most recent list of commitments, in a year with few scholarships to give, I saw no offensive or defensive linemen! How many running backs do we need for God's sake? Games are won/lost in the trenches. I think it is a big mistake to fail to recruit O and D linemen every year.

Travon Van, 4 star RB in high school. Originally signed with U of Florida, who was considered to have the best recruiting class in the country that year.

Scout.com: A good north-south runner and pretty shifty. He doesn't mind going up the middle but can cut it to the outside and get into the open field. Sometimes makes a few too many moves to make just one move. Really stands out catching the ball out of the backfield, and could also play in the slot. In fact, his versatility, is what makes him an intriguing prospect, because he can do it as both a back and receiver.

Strengths: Change-of-Direction , Elusiveness, Foot Quickness

Weakness: Power

The coaches stated objective this year was to get "More Athletic". And that is what they are doing...

While Its true that the Griz only lost 12 seniors, and the TE that transfered to Oregon and I bet there will be others that are granted release. (Also, if JJ is gone +1) Remember this stuff can be cut throat. The Ath are only given a one year scholorship and after that each year is re-evaluated, so expect some names to be gone this spring/summer.

Currently UM has 10 known verbals, BUT:
Morales is a prefered walkon (0)
Delaney is a partial (1/4)
Schye is probably a partial (1/2)
I am guessing that Nico Graham (1/2) and Josh Janssen (1/2) are also partials. (Missoula kids)

That leaves (5) Simis (QB), Van (RB), Nguyen (RB), Rogers (WR) and Russell (CB) as Full-ride schollies.

Remember FCS schools have 63 full-ride scholorships but can use partials to get up to a total of 85 scholoshiped players.

IE you could have 63 full-rides or
50 full-rides and 26 half schollys (total of 76)

So that means that UM's verbal list could be at 7 scholorships and still have atleast 7 left to give.

BTW Delaney scholorship was for books... I think that counts as a 1/4 scholly.
