Add Treshawn Favors RB Glendale,AZ and Mitch Lomax LB Lake Oswego,OR to your list of offers>

Thanks...Added

WOW, I hope his 40 time is legit! It be nice to a have a burner at RB. :thumb:

It would be a first. :thumb:

And it would be what UM has needed.

Look at EWU, MSU and other teams that have had success, they've all had GAME BREAKING speed at RB. You need the ability to score on every carry, UM has lacked that for the most part...

I still can't believe we failed to offer NAU's lightning quick RB Bauman, even after Griz WR coach was jumping up and down to sign him!
MSU has game changing at running back CK is probably the slowest back in the BSC!

Horner is a hard-core Griz and wants to be a Griz. My only fear is, he could be lured to Carroll or another Frontier school to play QB.

I think Horner would be a great pick-up. He is truly and athlete that could play many positions. I don't worry about going to a frontier school for QB, because his arm was not his strength. It was his running, athletic ability, decision making, and will to win that is his strength. I hate to say it, but he best thing that happened to CMR, was McClean getting injured early in the year. McClean is a flat out stud when it comes to throwing the ball. He is a phenomenal athlete and throws better than Horner, but Horner had an "it" factor that helped lead CMR this year. He is a born leader and those kids really rallied around him at QB. Horner would be a great get for the griz.

Looks like another Montanan coming to UM on partial scholarship. Mick Delaney is M.D.'S grandson from Bozeman. There are also offers to Will Dissly, Grant Collins, and Will Weyer according to the Bozeman Chronicle.

The name Delaney in the state of Montana conjures up one image: silver and maroon. It only made sense that Bozeman senior Mick Delaney - the namesake and grandson of current head coach Mick Delaney - was Missoula-bound. Delaney signed a partial scholarship Thursday night to play for his grandfather's program. The scholarship, the younger Delaney said, covers the books he'll need for class.Delaney's father, Mike, played for the Griz for two seasons and his cousin, Ryan Burke, is redshirting this season after prepping at Billings Central. Mick Delaney also is close friends with former Hawk Ben Weyer, another prep player redshirting this season, and redshirt junior Brock Coyle, another ex-Hawk.“There's a lot of connections, but I've been a Griz fan all my life,” Delaney said. “UM was definitely the big one. It always was my goal to get there.”Delaney had interest from Frontier Conference schools UM-Western and Montana Tech. He caught four passes for 81 yards and a touchdown while switching between two different receiver positions this season and collected 20 total tackles, one interception and three pass breakups as a safety. As a kickoff returner, Delaney averaged 15.1 yards per return prior to the AA state championship game.Head coach Troy Purcell said Delaney's willingness to be a team player aided in his ascension and role.“Mick's a hard worker, very energetic and his improvement from his sophomore to his senior year was tremendous,” Purcell said. “I wish him the best and hope he keeps working hard.”Purcell also confirmed several other seniors are being looked at by Frontier Conference schools and are still going through the recruiting process. The head coach also confirmed both UM and Montana State have offered scholarships to Grant Collins, Will Dissly and Will Weyer. All three are two-year varsity starters.“Any time you have kids who are looked at to play at any college level - 'Cats, Griz, Carroll, Frontier - that helps reassure us as a program that we're doing some things right around here and that we have kids who have the skills to contribute at the next level,” Purcell said.

It will be interesting following those 3 next year. Weyer and Dissly are getting FBS looks.

We are giving a kid a scholarship who wasn't even Honorable Mention All-State? I've never seen the kid play or heard of him, so maybe he is worthy... Sits wrong with me though that Delaney is giving his grandson a scholarship when he really hasn't stood out at the HS level...

We're buying his books, maybe $500. Hardly a scholarship

Weyer is a good prospect.... Dissly is a stud and will not be playing in Montana in 2014!

Any idea who visited this weekend? I know Treshawn Favors was one or atleast accorind to scout but who else heard their was gonna be alot of players.

I wouldn't worry too much about who is all-state, etc. That can be a pretty political meeting when they are picked. I have actually been in on a couple of all-conference and all-state meetings.

Kind of like watching "Real Housewives of Montana". Lots of giving snide compliments to the other players, and then voting the other way. Quite entertaining really.

Wait for it: Transfer from Marshall RB Travon Van. From reliable source

Like we need another RB.

Maybe he is going to play a cornerback position. See the article below -

HOUSTON - Most college football teams no longer list "TB" on their rosters for the primary running back spot.
..........

It was Travon Van, the erstwhile running back starter who moved to backup cornerback at Coach Doc Holliday's early-week request because the Herd had a need there ... and virtually clearing the way for Kevin Grooms, Steward Butler and Remi Watson to make more mayhem for the Owls.

"He did that to make the team better," Butler said after rushing for a game-high 166 yards, as the Herd (2-2, 1-0) escaped for its first victory in history in Texas - after losing a 10-point lead in the last four minutes of regulation. "When you see something like that, it makes you want to work that much harder.

"Travon made a big sacrifice. He went from a starter to non-starter, so I thank Travon for that, I really do."

O.K. so what have ya got?..one junior in Jordan Canada, all 172 lbs of him; another junior in Brett Kirschner that showed up in a couple games, don't know what happened to him; and one other that is sophomore Joey Counts; along with a Jacob Elder and a Nelo Butler on the roster that didn't even see the field this year. Granted, they have a Gavin Hagfors listed as a RB but he's more of an H-Back/TE as far as I know, at least in the first couple games, then I don't know what happened to him either. Starting the season with three well seasoned RBs is not so bad, but if one gets injured, then you're down to two; what then? Oh, I know, revert back to our mighty passing game, that's right.
