2013-14 Men's Roster

I honestly did not think Henderson would be gone. It seems like he is at peace with the decision though. Living it up with Riley and Jordan this summer.

Bummer! I thought Kevin had a ton of potential athletically. What exactly was the reason he left or didn't have his schollie renewed? Previous legal issues?

Let me say, I did not get any of this from a player or coach, but take it as you will.
I am guessing his minor legal issue combined with his lack of promptness came into play, if this came down to a tough coaching decision. Then again, it may have been his personal decision, which I feel is how it will be put out to the public. Doubt if the public will ever know the whole story, nor should we.

Regardless, I wish Kevin the best of luck and hope everything works out for him.

Good post. I too have no info on the subject.

Coleman, now Henderson. Message sent. Represent Griz basketball in a positive manner, or good-by.

As it should be. Tinks is always preaching to his kids that they must respect the University of Montana and the Program. I appreciate him backing up his words with appropriate action.

Really, at this point, we don't know that Kevin's apparent departure has anything to do with Tinks taking any action. It could be that he simply chose to seek another situation that might afford him a better opportunity for playing time.

I think it's funny that you think it's funny that some of us think we know what really happened with Henderson. It's also funny that we both wasted a few precious Kb of data on useless board posts!

JPJ, I think you are interpreting the post a little different. I have not seen one post saying anyone "knows" what happened. It looks to me the ones posting are being honest by saying they don't know or posting it is just a guess or thought.

I am not sure who you know tied to the basketball team. If you know anyone, feel free to find out yourself what his biggest downfall was? Thankfully, it was not of legal nature. This is a hard post to address, and I will leave it at that. Personally, I respect and like Kevin. I just hope he does not transfer w/in the conference and haunt us later. He has as much potential as anyone on the roster. He could be a nightmare if he ever puts everything together. :thumb:

Well I wanted to let you know Kevin was not happy at UM and he wanted to transfer to be closer to home and I hope he does transfer w/in the conference we shall see ;)

Intra-Conference Transfer Rule
In all Big Sky Championship Sports, a student-athlete who receives athletically-related financial
aid and transfers directly to another big Sky member institution must fulfill a residence
requirement of one full academic year (two full semesters or three full quarters excluding
summer term) before competing. During that period, the student-athlete shall not be offered,
provided or have arranged directly or indirectly any earned or unearned athletically-related
financial aid. A recruited non-qualifier, although not receiving athletically related aid, is bound
by this provision unless released in writing from the Director of Athletics of the previous
institution. On written petition from the student-athlete clearly explaining all extenuating
circumstances and hardships, the Eligibility Committee may waive the year in residency
requirement and/or financial aid restriction for an intra-conference transfer.
