To get a guard as talented as Bradshaw I would offer the sky to him. But he is a local kid and he wants to be closer to home, that's why he left USU. If Tinks knows that and knows he won't leave, then he is safe having him pay and keep a scholie open. I have no reason why I shouldn't believe you. I'm amazed that he is walking on. I'm gonna change two statements...that he isn't on scholarship (I'm trusting in you Sudzilla  ) and that he is the best player on your roster. The more I look into Mario Dunn the less impressed I become. All-conference talent, YES, better than Bradshaw, NO. USU is REALLY sad he left. big loss for the Aggies. I was pissed that USU had him. Now I'm beyond PISSED that you guys have him. Once a year, to twice a year, and lately, three times (that's what she said)!! No matter the Weber Student Section has lots of dirt to get into his head. Can't live without mommy...and that kind of stuff. lol

Best player on the roster? Are you high? We have the BSC MVP returning, kind think he gets the nod over someone who has yet to do a thing at the collegiate level. Best player my ass!

Backer, good to see you're still kicking! :thumb:

bradshaw and dunn are different players, each special in his own way. bradshaw has a better handle, and looks to be a better shooter. but dunn is uber-quick, great leaper, and in-your-face defender. there's much to like in both.

yo waldo, i'd be curious to know. why has dunn gone down in your estimation? you say the "more you've looked"--what have you been looking at? be sharp. you've already put yourself in a silly position by calling bradshaw the best player on the team, when his total D1 experience consists of two points and one assist in one exhibition game against a lower division team while at utah state.

I doubt he has anything to back up his statement about Dunn. Jabari Bird pursued the Cal staff to get him on board. He only started for one the top HS and AAU teams in the nation. He was not expected or needed to be a big scorer. I can see he is athletic, a defensive stopper, and wrecks havoc on a defense. He is also a good scorer when asked to be. He is a better ball handler than Bradshaw too. Bradshaw probably has more court sense/awareness at this stage.

WSUWALDO is coming here to troll and get under our skin. Nice try Waldo!!! :thumb:

Reading through this thread and the list of possible players the Griz may lose, I continued to have one recurring thought: Man, I don't want to lose any of those guys!

Bottom line, that's a great position to be in, and speaks volumes of the way Tinks can recruit and the way he's building this program from the bottom up and for the long haul. It's good to be a Griz. :thumb:

Yes, you gotta love how he's built the program from the bottom up, one thug at a time.

Yeah cause DUI and bar fights are the mark of true thugs. If that's the case, every college town in the nation is screwed.

Except Weber of course. If you believe some of their fans on their message board, none of their athletes would ever partake in an alcoholic beverage, or be anywhere NEAR a bar EVER, nor do they do anything wrong ever.

But in Dunn...you don't expect him to be as good as a healthy senior style-type Will Cherry just as a true freshman right out of high school?...do ya?

My 2 cents is that Dunn is more of a true point at the same stage in his career than Cherry. The thing that hurt Cherry's recruitment out of high school is that many doubted his ability to play the point at the D-1 level. For Dunn few question his point guard ability but want to see if he can become a big scorer when he moves out of Birds shadow. At the Big Sky level he should have no problem.

Well said mslacat. I think Wayne slowly elevates Dunn, just like he did with Cherry and Jamar. By the time we are in conference play, Dunn will be at 15 plus minutes per game. Our perimeter PG defense with Deshields, Gregory, and Dunn will be outstanding. Dunn will not be expected to put up Cherry like numbers this season.

So with Jack Lopez signing today the question again comes up who will be and who will not be on the roster next year.

Back for sure
1. Kareem Jamar - League MVP (Lock)
2. Jordan Gregory - Potential star (Lock)
3. Jake Wiley - Tinkle keeps mentioning his great potenial (Seems like a lock)
4. Andy Martin - Solid freshman year and did I mention he is 7'-0" (Seem like a lock)
5. Eric Hutchison - Senior to be, solid journeyman, 1 of few expericanced big men returning (Seems like a Lock)
6. Riley Bradshaw - Guaranteed a scholarship (some claim he will walk-on)
7. Brandon Gfeller - Guaranteed a scholarship
8. Mario Dunn - Guaranteed a scholarship
9. Chris Kemp - Guaranteed a scholarship
10. Martin Breunig - Guaranteed a scholarship
11. Jack Lopez - Guaranteed a scholarship

Possible Leaving (only 2 maybe 3 if Bradshaw is indeed a walk-on can be offered a scholarship)
12. Kevin Henderson - A lot of potential, could be counted on for major minutes in 2013-14 but legal problems
13. Keron DeShields - Potential starter, but legal problems
14. Nick Emerson - expendable when Bradley signed (hearing he may forgo a scholarship)
15. Mike Weisner - I liked him, thought he had a pretty decent sophomore season and brought something the Griz don't have a lot of deep three point range. Little bit of a tweener no natural position Minor legal problems

Walk-ons (there is always the possiblity of walk-ons moving on)
Morgan Young
Daine Mueller

I was wondering the same thing. I would think KD is safe, was a misstep but not like SC. Maybe RB is walking on with potential to earn scholarship, that seems like a logical option. Would hate to lose anyone because the depth seems to finally be there (playing well at forward/center is a different matter).

I don't think that either Weisner or Deshields are in any danger. I'm sure Weisner's minor matter was resolved and I suspect nothing came of Keron's. Similarly, Henderson already served a suspension earlier and I don't think double jeopardy would kick in at this late date.

WOW, I take a week break from EGRIZ with moving, then waiting for internet service to be installed, and I see we have another new player, and one departure.

Quite an overhaul in one offseason considering we were only expecting to lose 2 players to graduation. I hope the departure of Coleman will send a very loud message to every player. The GRIZ are ridiculously loaded at PG,SG, and SF. Sounds like Lopez will be another perimeter threat for us.

My hope is nobody departs. It is hard for me to see anyone giving up a scholarship, and staying put. I am not going to even venture a guess as to who else might be leaving. It does look like there will be a lot of pressure on Martin, Hutchison, and Kemp to step up their contributions this coming season. After this season the frontline is looking damn good with the addition of Breunig (sp?)

I cannot wait for this season to begin. I expect another exciting team to contend for the conference title.
