148 scholarship passers have hit the portal

I don't know if this number includes all FCS QB's too.

"In last year’s offseason transfer portal cycle, 136 FBS scholarship quarterbacks transferred to other Division I schools. The year before, the total was 130.

This year? It’s the wildest quarterback transfer cycle we’ve seen, both in quality and in quantity. By the end of January, 148 scholarship passers had hit the portal, and the decisions each one made had far-reaching consequences."

"When 43 Power 5 programs (and counting) bring in transfer quarterbacks at the same time, many more QBs end up feeling the impact. The backups realize it’s time to leave. The committed recruits rethink their plans. The schools that lose their starter need to go find their next one."

"After Chiles chose the Spartans, Oregon State’s new coaching staff looked to the portal and landed Idaho transfer Gevani McCoy, the 2022 Jerry Rice Award winner as the top freshman in the FCS, as well as Missouri freshman transfer Gabarri Johnson and in-state recruit Kallen Gutridge."

"Based on reports from 247Sports and On3 recruiting analysts, UNLV may have found a QB to help sustain their momentum in 2024.

Both the aforementioned outlets have posted reports indicating that Holy Cross University quarterback Matthew Sluka will make the move to the FBS with the Runnin' Rebels.

Sluka threw for 5916 yards at Holy Cross in four seasons at the FCS school with 59 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. He also rushed for 3,583. He's responsible for 97 total career TDs. " Jan. 15 article. G5 Football Daily.

This is Indiana qb who looked like he was coming to UM in early 2023, but then went to Michigan to be backup and get $90,000 of NIL money.

"Michigan quarterback Jack Tuttle has spent six years on college football sidelines, dating back to a redshirt year in 2018 with Utah.

Now, the veteran signal-caller is trying for a seventh season, Andrew Kahn of MLive wrote Thursday morning.
“It depends,” Tuttle said during media availability surrounding the Wolverines’ 34–13 national championship victory over Washington. “We’ll see what happens. I think I’ll have the opportunity to. It’s still in process. I’m enjoying this moment right now.”

Clayton Sayfie of On3 reported Tuesday that Tuttle intended to join Michigan's staff if his waiver is not granted."
