How long does a broken fibula take to heal?
Baylor Scott & White Health

Brady Gustafson broke his fibula in the Liberty game September 19, five weeks ago.
Fibular Fracture: The fibula is the smaller of the two lower leg bones and is vulnerable to breaks (fracture). Fibular fractures may go fully through the bone (complete) or partially (incomplete). The bone fragments are rarely out of alignment (displaced fracture). Fibula fractures may occur anywhere along the bone. Fibular fractures are not often a severe injury, because the bone supports only about 17% of the body weight. PROGNOSIS: If treated properly, fibular fractures usually heal in 4 to 6 weeks.
