Lady Griz up 26-25 at the 2Q media timeout. Pretty sloppy from both teams. Lady Griz interior defense has been struggling and guards have been turning it over.

An outstanding, gut-check 76-71 win by the GrizWBB squad over Grand Canyon. Marxen took control down the stretch for the Griz, but Mack Konig, with 15 pts tonight, is really developing as an outstanding pg.

Huge win for the Lady Griz — on the road at the preseason favorite in the WAC.
Need to clean up turnovers and things on the defensive end, but I thought the Lady Griz looked solid offensively. Thought Bartsch was great, Konig was solid, and Huard made provided a much needed spark off the bench. I love the intensity MJ Bruno brings as well.
Hope to see Stump get back on track soon and Burton-Oliver healthy. Lady Griz are miles ahead of where they were at this time a season ago IMO.

Griz get balanced scoring from all areas of the court with five in double figures: Konig-15, Espenmiller-McGraw - 11, Gfeller - 11, Bartsch - 12, and frosh Macey Huard with 10. Stats pretty even, but the Griz outrebound the lopes 33-28. A significant stat that bodes well for this team this year is to see 9 Griz players log double-digit minutes with all 9 getting at least one bucket. Another positive sign was to see the Griz make halftime defensive adjustments that forced Lopes offensive players out of the key (most of the time).

Like to see Stump get back on track but she is starting out this year the same way she finished last year. Seems she is having a slump that carried over from last year. If it keeps up, May have to start thinking, maybe her start last year was an abnormality. Hope not.OregonStateFan wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 8:03 pm Huge win for the Lady Griz — on the road at the preseason favorite in the WAC.

Once A Griz, Always A Griz.
That was a great game by the LG. Bartsch was flying everywhere, Konig was the mature leader, and the team had many strong contributors and pulled together for a great win. GCU was no slouch. Agree with @OregonStateFan that we're way ahead of where we were last year.

Very fun game to watch! Bartsch is a stud.
Youve got it, nice show from the multi-talented ladies, they look fired up! Coaching looks good too, subs, timeouts, adjustments, sideline consults well done! Konig nice ball handling, great court presence. Totally impressed with so many of these new players...how about that Macy...wow!!!grizzlyjournal wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 8:10 pm Griz get balanced scoring from all areas of the court with five in double figures: Konig-15, Espenmiller-McGraw - 11, Gfeller - 11, Bartsch - 12, and frosh Macey Huard with 10.
