County Health Dept After the Mo Club

hell don't tell a motel in ND your from Montana if you want to try and book a room. I wonder how many other states are not allowing Montanans to book rooms? We should remember it next tourist season and give paybacks.

North Dakota has more cases per capita than any state in the nation. Literally, no. 1.

North Dakota is currently also no. 1 in nation in Seven-day average of daily new reported cases per 100,000 residents. 81. The US average is currently is 16.

MT is no. 3 in nation, with 51.

Bullock/Cooney need to stop ignoring the covid to make time for campaigning. Time to get back to doing the jobs they were elected to do.

"Montana State University in Bozeman recorded the largest increase among universities with almost 60 new cases, bringing the schools’ total to 217. The University of Montana in Missoula registered 32 new cases, bringing the schools' total to 241. "

Tonight's Missoulian.

Honestly, NoDak's delayed infection rate shouldn't come as a surprise given a few factors. First, as we all know, NoDak is extremely isolated. Nobody travels to North Dakota by choice. Ever. So that explains the delay. Second, as we've seen, the NoDakkers are an extremely dirty/sloppy group of people. It's been said that if you shake hands with a NoDakker, you've basically licked every doorknob in the state.

Is there convincing evidence that the use of masks actually help? Do they block airborne transmission of the virus?

It depends on your willingness to be convinced. Japan, our ally who's constitution mirrors ours, is an island country roughly the size of Montana with 126 million people. They didn't shut down. What they did do is wear masks, shut down their airports for a short time, and ran down cases & quarantined those in contact with covid positives. They got a handle on it fast. To date they have 1646 deaths. We have 218,000 deaths, no plan, and still argue about masks.

Japan's had 4 other viral outbreaks in the last 20 years & has learned how to deal with them. They wear masks in flu season, on the subway, and students even wear them to cover zits. (True story, my friend is a professor in Osaka) South Korea mirrors Japan's results and strategy.

I heard they do some other rather “untoward” things on the subway.

Not odd at all. The Mo Club is a commercial business subject to the Governor's orders.

Total BS... He doesn't have this power and was never given it at all.

The only reason business's comply is that they can't AFFORD to fight it.

Where has the country gone that use to say people are responsible for their actions?

Yeah, we can see how that is going.

"With Fewer Covid-19 Restrictions, South’s Economy Outperforms Nation"

"But by the end of summer, the South’s economy remained largely unscathed from the wave of infections. Its unemployment rate had fallen to 6.9%, the lowest of any region in August.

The number of people employed was 6% lower in August than in February, before most of the country locked down, compared with declines of 10.6% in the Northeast, 8.2% in the West and 7% in the Midwest. Consumers continued to spend at relatively high rates.

Deaths have also been relatively high in some Southern states, especially Louisiana and Mississippi. Overall, the region has reported about 60 deaths per 100,000 people, higher than the Midwest at 52 and the West at 40 but much lower than 132 in the Northeast.

In South Carolina, 44% of Republicans say they aren’t concerned at all about a virus outbreak in their local area, compared with 2% of Democrats, polling numbers from Civiqs show. In other states that also have Republican governors, such as Georgia and Florida, percentages are similar.

Not all states in the South were quick to reopen. North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper, a Democrat, was more cautious. By August the state had recovered about 43% of the jobs lost in March and April, while states including Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and Mississippi—all led by Republican governors—had recovered well over 50%, according to a Wells Fargo analysis."

No covid associated with the Mo Club. Was closed for 2 days.

The college crowd is wanting to mingle in the downtown bars.

Stocks was closed today.

Exactly. Also see that the governor doesn’t follow the governors orders so there’s that.....

There’s just pictures of him floating around not wearing a mask inside while others are wearing a mask. I couldn’t care less but found it ironic.

Given their diet and that they have a very healthy population and virtually none of the predispositions or co-morbidities (gross obesity, diabetes) its not surprising they have a low death rate, solely based on these factors. But they also don't have a CDC listing covid as a cause of death for those who test positive and die in a vehicle crash, drowning accident, or falling in front of a train (I hear its a daily occurrence https://anthropology.uchicago.edu/sites/anthropology.uchicago.edu/files/uploads/CA%20Tokyo%27s%20commuter%20train%20suicides.pdf.) or from other terminal diseases that are the real causes of death.

...that's a great point!.. everyone want's to limit the success of wearing a mask to stay healthy but some cultures and races are just more
immune to certain aliments....America is diverse and really not the healthiest country in the world...we are junk food eaters..let alone
a melting pot of races and cultures...some people are barely affected when getting Covid.. ... Japanese just might have a more healthier
lifestyle and immune system ....Taiwan's is low too! ..

True, they are healthier and that's part of the puzzle. Men aged @ 45 - 55 have a name over there that escapes me(chime in oh egrzzers) but they work late, drink, smoke, chase kimonos, and suffer much more from covid than the rest of their society. They're the ugly Americans of Japan so to speak. I believe you're saying the US covid rate is overstated. Cut it in half - go with 114,000 deaths. Do you really think Japan has 1646 deaths because they eat better and aren't fat/ignorant Americans? Take into account 126 million living on top of each other on an island the size of MT. They use masks, and masks work if society is intelligent enough to use them. South Korea, Vietnam, New Zealand - all took the same path and have similar results. We got boned.

Folks, here is all you need to know. Ending last week the CDC chart for covid death stats for Montana looked like this
Montana 199 7,524 101 399 76 34 556

The first number is deaths with the person testing positive. The second is all deaths over the same time period. The third is the percentage of deaths against the same time period last year. 101% is well within the margin of error to conclude we have had no additional deaths in Montana because of covid. We have had 1.9 more deaths over last year through this time period, even though 199 people who died tested positive for the virus. This is a death rate due to covid a good 100 times less than reported. We are being bamboozled as to the danger of this virus over the whole population. It is the same or smaller mortality increase rate as one sees from the flu. Help the vulnerable protect themselves and get on with living.
