Big inning continues. Weisgram doubles, Becker gets 2-rbi single and Sellers gets her first hit/rbi of the tourney. Griz lead 7-4 going into bottom of the 3rd.

KATIE PIPPEL! Slams a towering 3-rbi homer over the right-center field fence. Griz lead 10-4 in the top of the 4th.

BROOKLYN WEISGRAM! Called by the SAC announcer as a "Mammoth Shot" over the left-center scoreboard. First-ever time that the SAC announcer has seen a homer over the scoreboard. Griz ahead 11-4.

Griz advance with an 11-5 win over PSU. Colleen Driscoll gets the W with stellar relief pitching (and mound defense) in the win. Griz knock 15 hits, 2 doubles and 2 homers in the win. Excellent D by Montana infield (even though Knauss was charged with an E in the first when the infield was very soggy), wihich polished-off the win on a game-ending heads-up 1-4-3 double play. Go Griz.

Tomorrow we play at 2:30 mt against the winner of Sac St and ISU. Tuff call who’d I’d rather see here. Sac’s the home team but they’ve been in a free fall the last 2 weeks. ISU is definitely the better team at this time and they have a great Fr pitcher. Their game is on right now.

Looks like it will be Sac. I’m sure we’ll see Savanna Corr too, easily be of the best pitchers in the con this year.alabamagrizzly wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 3:15 pmTomorrow we play at 2:30 mt against the winner of Sac St and ISU. Re: 2019 Big Sky Softball Tourney
Most likely going to be Sac State, ahead 9-0 over ISU going into the top of the 3rd. This tourney is progressing in classic double-elimination form. Structured to give top seeds a one-game bye but otherwise geared to give an edge to teams with pitching depth... or a tough pitcher with "extra innings" stamina. The irony of day one was the number of extra-inning contests. PSU pitchers, for instance, tossed a combined 21 innings (three full games) in two day-one games. The perfect team for the Griz to face. ISU has possibly one of the two best pitchers in conference, but Autumn Pease was clearly fatigued last night in the extra-innings game against UNC.alabamagrizzly wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 3:15 pmTomorrow we play at 2:30 mt against the winner of Sac St and ISU.
