The Official 2015 ALLATOONA BUCS football thread!!!

Rainey is an excellent QB. The roll out is WIDE OPEN everytime we do it. We have the wrs and he is a very good runner. So please everyone stack 9 to stop Holimon even though he is unstoppable. Everything is coming together and the Oline understands the offense. You will hear what I am talking about when our BUCS go to Hiram 5:30 pm Friday OCT 16 http://georgiaprepsportsnetwork.com/

Our BUCS jumped out to a 17-0 lead hiram closed it to 17-13 then the 44 yard fg before the half made it 20-13. The ALLATOONA BUCS rolled from there hammering hiram 48-13... Holimon did not play. That's 7 in a row for our MIGHTY BUCS!!! in JV Allatoona 42 East paulding 0

ACWORTH — Allatoona rolled to a 48-13 win over Hiram on Friday, keeping the Buccaneers in contention for the Region 5AAAAA title.

Allatoona (7-1, 6-1) gained 258 yards on the ground without the services of leading rusher Russell Halimon who was in uniform but didn’t play. Halimon came into the week with 1,193 yards on the season, placing him among the state’s top rushers, but coach Gary Varner said Halimon’s absence was for rest as opposed for anything disciplinary.

“Russell has carried the ball many times this year, and we felt we needed to give him a break,” Varner said. “We’ve had trouble down the stretch the past few years and felt that we could get away with it (Friday). Other guys stepped up.”

The win allowed Allatoona to keep pace with East Paulding and Alexander atop the region standings, with each team sporting one loss in region play.

Two of Halimon’s backups took advantage of the extra snaps as Charles Anderson ran for a game-high 124 yards and two touchdowns, and Brandon Archibald had 117 yards and three scores.

“I thought our offensive line did a good job overall,” Varner said. “Our backs ran hard from the beginning of the game.”

Allatoona held Hiram (3-4, 2-4) scoreless in the second half. The Hornets only had 164 yards of offense, fumbled the ball five times — losing two — and threw an interception.

“Hiram runs an option and got us a couple of times early,” Varner said. “It took time to figure it out defensively, and once our guys found the right fits, they did a good job.”

Allatoona jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the first quarter on a 1-yard touchdown run by Archibald, a 37-yard field goal from Skyler Davis and Michael Pynes’ 12-yard touchdown catch from Brandon Rainey.

Hiram, however, cut the lead to 17-13 midway through the second quarter with two touchdown runs by Elijah Hairston, who had a team-high 108 rushing yards.

Davis’ 44-yard field goal with less than a minute left in the first half gave Allatoona the 20-13 lead heading into halftime.

Anderson and Archibald each had two rushing touchdowns in the second half to seal the victory.

Our Bucs travel to Paulding County And they are fired up. The onside kick for fun and are a trick play machine. They took South Paulding out and want e of a playoff spot. Allatoona must bring thier fundamentals and be mentally tough to take care of PC.... East paulding vs alexander the other 2 tied for first. BIG FRIDAY AHEAD!!!!

Our Mighty ALLATOONA BUCS are back in control of region 5. Allatoona DOMINATED from the start and hammered Paulding County 42-7....Alexander went into East paulding jumped up 24-7 but east Paulding pulled within 24-21. They completed a pass with:05 left to the Alexander 21 but time ran out leading OUR MIGHTY ALLATOONA BUCS and alexander tied atop region 5 with one game left and of course ALLATOONA has the tiebreaker. 2 weeks to prepare for Chappel hill and wrap up region 5 yet again

Allatoona moved one step closer to a second consecutive 5AAAAA region championship with a dominating 42-7 victory against Paulding County.

With the win, the Buccaneers (8-1, 7-1) remain in first place, and now control their own destiny after East Paulding was defeated by Alexander on Friday. A win in two weeks over Chapel Hill would clinch the region championship.

Leading 7-0 midway through the second quarter, Allatoona put the game out of reach with two touchdowns right before halftime. A 31-yard run by Russell Halimon and a 34-yard touchdown catch by Michael Pynes from Brandon Rainey gave the Buccaneers a commanding 21-0 halftime lead.

However, Allatoona was very fortunate the game wasn’t closer. The Patriots were able to drive inside the Buccaneers' 5-yard line twice in the first half, but came up empty both times.

“We got lucky early,” Allatoona coach Gary Varner said. “They had two chances inside the 10 and they didn’t get it done and then the momentum changed.”

Rainey's two third-quarter touchdowns - a 24-yard touchdown run and 19-yard pass to Brian Mitchell - as well as Charles Anderson's 13-yard run in the third quarter increased Allatoona's lead to 42-0.

The Patriots were able to avoid the shutout as Caleb Sailors scored on a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter.

That did not take away a solid defensive effort from the Buccaneers as they forced three turnovers and held Paulding County to 206 total yards.

Hailmon’s ability to run the ball combined with Rainey’s good decision making with several rollout pass plays kept the Patriots off balance. Hailmon rushed for 150 of his 194 yards in the first half while Rainey was able to keep plays alive using his legs as he threw for 104 yards and rushed for 93. He also scored three touchdowns.

Overall, the Buccaneers rushed for 400 yards and tallied 504 total yards.

‟We feel we can run and pass equally well,” said Varner. “We’ve got two good threats there (Rainey and Hailmon). We got the receivers that are doing their job blocking and then all of a sudden they pop open. So it’s been a good, balanced team this year.”

Allatoona took an early 7-0 first quarter lead as Jaylen Parrish scored on an 11 yard touchdown run on its first offensive possession.

With a region championship on the line in two weeks, Varner says the task is to keep improving.

“We’re going to watch the film,” Varner said. “There’s going to be plenty of mistakes we can get better on and we’ll just try to keep goin
