Montana faces an aggressive all-court defensive attack by Wichita St in the LMU Thanksgiving Classic. Good news: Carmen Gfeller is listed to start. Go GrizWBB

The radio broadcast is awful. Advertising while the game is being played is unacceptable. Someone should get their act together and make this a more professional presentation. I would think Learfield would demand a much better broadcast.

I agree.

Libby Stump seems to be a real player from what I’ve seen on ESPN+ and what it sounds like in this game.

Hard to describe the turnaround going by the radio play-by-play, but the shooting percentages give a good indication: Wichita State shoots 88% over the final quarter & OT while Montana shoots 37%.

Going strictly on stats... Sammy Fatkin goes 1-for-10 from the field (whew), but frosh Libby Stump and Keeli Burton-Oliver, with 12 pts apiece and Gina Marxen with 17 play well.

A frustrated coach Holsinger basically said his team played solid D for three quarters.

A lot of good to take from the box score: Nine players log double-digit minutes on floor with three frosh making significant contributions. Carmen Gfeller played 27 minutes in her first game of the year & will obviously need some game experience. Great to see her back on the court. Maybe most puzzling is that Sammy Fatkin is struggling offensively.

Great to see Mack Konig played. The eye injury she suffered against NDU looked like it could have been very serious.

Agree, maroonandsilver. Frankly -- because of Carmen's unavailability in early games and Sammy's puzzling shooting problems -- Montana's four frosh have had extra on-court opportunities and show marked improvement with every game. Mack, Keeli and Libby all made significant impact yesterday. Libby and Keeli both scored 12 points, but more importantly eight players logged double-digit minutes of playing time... nine if you count Lisa Kiefer's 9+ minutes.

This was the excitement around Holsinger's hire--his recruiting ability. And it looks like it's starting to pay off--44 points and 25 rebounds from our underclassmen. These are the kinds of games we will win when these kids become juniors and seniors. Meantime, Fatkin is in a shooting slump and Gfeller was rusty, so our seniors did not come through. But they will before the season is over.
