Welcome Lisa Kiefer

A 6'3" player that can shoot from the perimeter and post players up down low, that sounds like the perfect addition to this team. She will be a match up nightmare in the Big Sky. As the article states her experience playing at the international level and against much older competition will help her immensely. I think this is the first of many great signings for Holsinger.

How can she possibly be any good, she wasn't recruited by SS, she is not a Montana Native, and not a Native American?

Seriously, she sounds like a welcome addition. Welcome Lisa, when you put on that uniform, you will be a LADY GRIZ! !

So that's two assistant coaches and one player, and it looks like Holsinger is three for three. I for one am regaining my once waning interest in this team.

According to their most recent rosters, every team in the BSC has/had at least one player 6'3" or taller, except UM (Anderson and Mills were both listed at 6'2") and NAU (tallest player only 6'1"). I think SUU has the conference's tallest player (6'5" frosh center). Actually, kinda interesting but SUU has 6 players 6'1" or taller. 8 that are 6' and up. That's got to be pretty rare. Anyone know how tall the Covill daughters are nowadays?

Anyways, back to Kiefer, anyone have any video? I could only find a post-game interview on youtube.

Holly Tyler and Crystal Baird were the last Lady Griz players taller than 6'2".

Not sure if this link will work but here is a picture of her.

The younger Covill daughter has grown to 6'6".

The older no longer plays basketball. I heard that she is taking classes at UM.

Hopefully, she will be allowed to travel to the US. I believe Germany is still on Biden's Do-Not-Enter list. See link.

Will she be interested in UM now that her dad was been terminated?

This site from what I think is her German team says she averages 1.2 per game. .4 assists and 1.2 rebounds.

In about 18 games, 52% shooting (13-25), 0-6 from 3, 5-5 from the line. 11 TO to 7 assists.

If I read the site/stats wrong, please correct.

The release says she is expected to make the German team. Assume that's a pretty big deal.

This site lists her as 6'2". Look like she just turned 19.

With a quick scan, I did not see Germany mentions in there anywhere. Correct me if I’m wrong.

"after reviewing the public health situations within the Schengen Area"

Germany is in the Schengen Area. That's basically the EEU.

I stand corrected. I was assuming that was someplace in China .

I do see a loophole though. If she can go to a country that is not on the travel ban and spend 14 days there, then she should be allowed in.

The travel ban is mutual. I think both sides with withdraw or change the travel ban in the coming months. Probably in time for summer tourism. However, Germany, like much of Europe, has had a surge of cases in recent months. New cases are down slightly in the last week, but are still near peaks in early Dec. and again in early January.

From an article in the last week: "Germany has implemented tough lockdown rules in a bid to curb a third wave of infections, issuing a set of new measures expected to last until June."

I believe Kiefer will be participating in the European U20 tournament next weekend. Here is the link to the German team: https://www.fiba.basketball/europe/challengers/u20women/2021/team/Germany
