But yet Sean Miller and Wade Miller both kept their jobs for things that are a lot worse.

If you win enough, you can get away with a lot. If you don't win enough, it doesn't take much to lose your job. Verlin did not win enough.

Yeah, I get a sense that Idaho wanted to fire Verlin based on performance (understandable), but didn't want to pay the buy-out. So they used seemingly minor infractions as the rationale to fire him "for cause".

Perhaps more will come out regarding the alleged infractions, but this kinda seems like a bullshit move, which would be just like all things UI.
 
Longtime Spokesman Review sportswriter, John Blanchette, torches Idaho admin for the way it (mis)handled Verlin's "discipline." Whew. Not far from the bottom, but headed there.
