App. State @ Marshall on CBS. Hard to believe it has been 24 years since the bolted.

Kind of an ugly game. Too bad, Marshall is winning. Speaking of Marshall, their QB has to learn to not force the ball into tight coverages. He made a few bad decisions.

Marshall OC is former MSU and UNH OC, Tim Cramsey.

I'd be interested to see the revenue Marshall has generated over these 24 years versus staying in the small pool.

There's some Marshal info in the July 2020 article. Doesn't look like Marshall has been rolling in the dough.

"According to numbers obtained by The Virginian-Pilot newspaper's Harry Minium through a Freedom of Information Act request, the new television contract is worth $2.8 million - total - from four networks: ESPN, CBS Sports Network, American Sports Network and beIN Sports.

That translates to $200,000 a year per school, which is a major drop-off from previous years.

In 2015-16, C-USA's total payout to member schools was $15.4 million, Minium reported.

Later, The Herald-Dispatch columnist Chuck Landon revealed that some of that $15.4 million payout was supplemented by exit fees accrued from the departure of several programs during the two waves of realignment when schools left C-USA for the AAC.

Landon reported the $15.4 million was augmented by $6.1 million in exit fees, which left the actual television rights portion of the contract at $9.3 million, which still equated to roughly $700,000 for each of the 13 football-playing member schools.

Marshall's biggest weakness is its budget size. A USA Today database containing financial information from 2014-15 showed an annual budget of $27.4 million. In comparison, the smallest current athletics budgets reported in the AAC were the University of Memphis ($43.3 million) and the University of Houston ($45.4)."

Thought I'd put these up for you to look at as we all know up until the pandemic, North Dakota was doing pretty well financially and could have been considered the top of the FCS financially. PR posted Marshall's financials for comparison.
