The M&M Men

I'm not calling them boys because both of the new MM linemen are like Men among boys. Milton Mamula and Moses Mallory have both been Big reasons that our OL and DL play have improved dramatically.
I'm not saying the other linemen haven't done great things (they have) but it's kinda fun to think of the double your pleasure, double your fun of the new M&Ms we got this year..

Maybe the UM PR guys can have some fun with it too :p

Oh, I'm sure if Learfield could make some extra money by throwing up some ad catchphrases, they would. However, the "double your pleasure..." is Doublemint Gum's catchphrase. It would be "melt in your mouth, not in your hand" to reference M&M's.

Those two guys have been big lifts (especially with Mallory), but the o-line success is always a group success thing, especially in pass protection (almost everyone could be doing an awesome job locking down their assignment but if one defensive guy gets through for a TFL or sack, the perception is that the entire line is playing terrible). And if your whole line is playing well, that is usually because of its leadership from the center who's making the calls up front (Sirmon). Having the extra (actual) TEs to block has helped the o-line, too.

Mamula had a good game but my pick for biggest impact this year on the d-line would be Gubner.

I knew I was confusing catchphrases but it was the middle of the night. I just thought it was fun that we had2 Big additions to our lines that were both initialed MM.
Gubner has done a great job as has Ryder.
Just having some levity here.

Add in another young “M” in McGourin who may be the best of them all. They are saving him for a redshirt it seems. The Griz are a very young team and still finding success. Future is bright!

the M and M thing is even more impressive if one considers who they have replaced in large part....that would b N and N, Nagler and Nelson, both whom had started some last year and at least played quite a little.....I really thought they were going to be studs coming out of high school and now they cannot even get on the field.....good problem to have...Griz!
