While the campaign’s $400 million target has been met, the Foundation isn’t ending early. It now aims to reach 110% of its goal, or $440 million. “There are several priorities we’re continuing to work on the end of Campaign Montana,” Cindy Williams, the Foundation’s president, told the Missoulian.

Congrats to the Foundation, the the UM Alumni Association, the Deans and all other stakeholders in this process! Job well done!

close, but you are off by a smidge. the slogan is "be huge, try for humongous!", with a free family coupon for the Golden Corral for anyone who visits the website. you should see what the actual donors are given! holy cows!

There are limits to what you can overcome in business.

yes, you can really tell the difference between the comments of the travelling visitors, versus the locals.

Let's build more dorms and the new indoor practice facility. And reduce ticket prices. Or, I suppose UM could use it to move up. I suppose UM will have to use it to bribe more students to come, and to stay.

Everett, how about a summary of this raise?

Where did money come from generally? What's it for? Does it include money already used? How much is for buildings and how much for programs? How much for general fund? For scholarships? Athletics? Thx.

All geared toward student success. The 3 primary areas of focus will be Research/Programs, Innovation and Scholarships, with most of the money going toward scholarships and other FA. So not a great deal of new brick and mortar, but much more innovation and updating of technology.

Given that enrollment is down right now these seem like excellent areas to invest in. I think I read recently that there are quite a few dorm rooms empty and presumably classrooms won't be over crowded in most cases.

Of course it would be nice to upgraded dorms and other shiny things, and those things are important and do play a role in attracting students but you can't have everything at once.

As the saying goes “when life gives you lemons make lemonade.” What the University should be touting is, enroll at the U of M; small class size, your choice of any dorm room, short cafeteria lines, barista jobs aplenty, open parking lots, free ski lift tickets. Ok I made that one up but by then they’ll be hooked.
