Not Football related, so Mods, move if you must...But I thought this was an important and exciting topic for the University and probably relevant to recruiting to some degree. I was surprised this hadn't been posted yet, so hear you go!

US News and World Report came out with their 2019 college rankings. Montana moved up in the overall rankings and moved AHEAD of MSU.

Montana's College of Business was rated the best in the Big Sky, and is over 100 spots ahead of MSU (I hope Saccat66 is reading this).

There has been a lot of chest thumping from cat fans about MSU's academics in recent years. This is a great reminder that we have an amazing University here in Missoula. I also love to see UM (thank you Kathy Cole) actively pushing this news out there.

As a proud UM and College of Business Alum, I love to see this. Go Griz!

This is something to sell with all of the advertising and flyers they send out...wait...

Kidding. Better this year it seems, at least commercials for games.

Yep...Good job. Guess when you have a professor to student ratio of 1:1 you get learned pretty goodly.

Hows the Cats QB situation looking? You guys still going with the Linebacker with a broken hand to throw your deep balls or the Transfer with a broken foot?

This is the kind of bold strategy you use when you don't have that pesky Appendix in your way....It worked great last week!

yet this ranking
yet this football coach
yet this president

Still all result in declining enrollment. Um cant let this be a reason to not press forward and communicate the good things that may happen with a degree from the UM.
MSU had a ranking much lower, yet is just simply crushing it when the most important topic is concentrated on, and that is growing enrollment from were it is now to were it needs to be. This is good news for the UM, but its important to remember, there is obviously many other reasons Montana high school students, and those around the country are choosing MSU over the UM.

It is really nice to here a academic bright spot for the UM!!

Yes, this is terrific. It's amazing what a new President and new football coach will do for a school.

It is terrific news and I like both of these hires, but the data they use is mostly compiled before either of these two moves were made by the U of M. Agree, though it's great news and no doubt these two men will keep the U of M moving in the right direction. Football success means donors and donors mean university success.

Depends on who is doing the rankings.

MSU is the success story in Montana with its record breaking enrollment and it's rankings. UM needs to do a lot better job in selling themselves.

USNWR or Forbes? All rankings can be arbitrary, but I hope you know USNWR is the most important metric. Anyone can be ranked high in Earl's Rankin' of Fancy Book Learnin' and Radiator Repair Shops.

You are right CDA, they all can be arbitrary. It appears that with UMs steeply declined enrollment that students and their parents do not agree with you on USNWR.
