The Montana Grizzlies showed up last night and took Weber State to the cleaners. The Griz won their first Big Sky Conference regular-season championship in 12 seasons in front of a sold out crowd (7,157 fans). It was the loudest environment I’ve experienced in Dahlberg Arena, excluding the musical acts of T-Pain, the Gym Class Heros and the like. The atmosphere was one to remember and brought the excitement to the game we all experience in Washington Grizzly Stadium every fall.

Will Cherry and Senior Forward Art Steward led the Griz offensively and defensively to shut down the Weber powerhouse. The crowd was a little slow to get into the game but once they did, it was one for the record books. I hope to see this excitement around Grizzly Basketball in the future, starting with the Big Sky Tournament on Tuesday in Missoula.
