The Griz defeated Weber State in front of more than 7,000 screaming, jumping, cheering, basketball hoop shaking fans, in what I would consider one of the best crowds in recent Griz basketball history. Disclaimer, I know I said that about last weeks matchup against Weber State but this definitely won the battle.
The crowd was in it from the get-go. We were down early but the crowd stayed positive and showed the Griz how much we appreciate them and they gave us one heck of a show in the second half scoring 54 of their 85 points. I talk a lot about the fans because I truly believe the fans are what make the game. The atmosphere in Dahlberg arena made this game one you wouldn’t want to miss. The energy you feel when the whole place goes nuts, does the Montana Grizzlies chant or boos at the Weber State dancers in the time out competition. Everyone is connected and all going for the same cause, and it makes you feel great!
Don’t get me wrong, this team is one of the best I’ve seen in my Griz fan-ship and love watching what these boys can do with the guidance from coach Tinkle. They just won their 14th game in a row, which is a new school record. They have also won 20 of their last 21 games. That is incredible.
Let’s give it up to the Montana Grizzlies, the seniors who we will miss dearly and to those that have supported throughout the season and came out in droves for the past couple weeks of games!
We are Montana, We are Griz Nation!
