If anyone had a chance to watch the BSC Softball Tournament they would have been immensely proud of our ladies. They went into the tournament as a 4th seed and almost made it to the championship game against ISU. They had to play a brutal schedule with 5 games in in 4 days. Yesterday they played back to back games with loser out in the morning against PSU and came away with a 9-3 win. Then 35 minutes later they had to go up against the seasons 2nd place team NCU. You could tell they were a little tired, 5 games in 4 days. Down 10 - 3 in the top of the 7th (Ladies play 7 innings) they found their bats and scored 4 runs and lost what I thought was a bad call with their 3rd out on a close call at 3rd base.
If you’ve not had a chance to attend a game at the South Ave field you’ve missed a good game. These young ladies come to play and their new 2nd year coach has them playing excellent softball.
I believe, don’t quote me, but I think they had only one senior on the team. They’re mostly freshmen and sophomores. Look for them to make noise in the next couple of years.
