NO GOR has been broken yet, including that one holding the ACC together. The penalty to leave early is brutal and the PAC is not making much more money that the MWC is

Ya until UNLV and New Mexico start looking over at the PAC12 and seeing that they're getting multiple bids into March Madness and have a lot of the heavy favorites to get CFP auto bid as well. Meanwhile the new look MWC will likely be a 1 bid league most years and with all the ugly new football members (except NDSU), will have almost zero chance of getting the CFP auto bid. They'll be clamoring to get into the PAC12 which in turn will open more spots in the MWC.

Air Force joining the military academies in the American has been floated around for awhile as well.

If so UNLV or NM can’t leave until 2031 they signed a new grants of right or they can pay 18-20 mil to leave early.

The MWC will get multiple bids in MBB, with Hawaii, Grand Canyon and UNLV they will have scheduling agreements with PAC and WCC to make there strength of schedule stronger. Football is a lost cause. MBB and WBB is where the money is.

Especially now there expanding the NCAA Tournament to 74 or 76 teams, would rather be in the MWC for basketball.

College football is the primary driver behind realignment.

The tv money breakdown from a basketball school (University of Arizona) is approximately 65% from football, 20% from men’s basketball and 15% from all other sports combined. A school more well known for their football program and less for basketball like ASU has an even higher percentage of their tv revenue come from football and less come from men’s basketball.
