The Big Sky Documentary Film Festival starts on Friday, and they always have some good stuff in the lineup. On Sunday at 2:30 they will be showing "Big Sky is Falling" at 2:30 at the Wilma. Tickets are $10-$15, and it is always a fun event to support. If you're in town, grab some tickets!

"A shocking drug and murder scandal erupts within Montana State University’s athletic program. As investigators pursue the case, a cocaine ring run by current and former players comes to light, entangled with weapons, threats, and underground crime. The violence ripples through the MSU community, leaving Bozeman permanently changed."

Honestly, that sounds super interesting. I was actually living in the same apartment complex as Brandon Miller's girlfriend when all of that went down. I saw both of them regularly. Also, I had crossed paths with the victim multiple times. Thanks for posting.

Come on over. I'll buy you a beer before or after.

What a wild time to be a student at MSU. How shocked were you when it all came out? Or did a lot of students know that something was under the surface?

It was shocking....but also at the same time, there was constantly things going on with the football players and coaches getting in trouble. So in a sense, it was just another punch to the stomach, but at the same time a murder/drug ring was absolutely shocking.

But also, there were some dudes who you could just tell they were trouble and it was only a matter of time before something went south. John Lebrum was definitely one of those guys. Brandon Miller, not so much.

Interesting. Quite the decade that both schools had around that time....

I edited my post, but if you feel like coming over and watching it, happy to buy you a beer before or after.

Appreciate the offer, but I'll be tearing out and rebuilding my back fence that blew over in the big wind storm last month.

Let's just keep the facts straight, shall we?
The murder and the cocaine scandals involving Montana State University athletes might be somewhat connected to a statutory rape scandal involving the daughter of a MSU Bobcats Men's basketball booster.

However, neither the murder, the cocaine, or the rape were related to the meth traffiking by a former Montana State Univeristy Fooball assistant head football coach.
The meth scandal involving and MSU Bobcats football coach is a separate scandal that took place at roughly the same time. The NCAA in general and FCS football in particular is aware of all of this. The NCAA 2026 FCS fooball championship is not associated with any of these scandals.

Did I post this with enough SEO triggers to help anyone doing a google search find this thread? Maybe.

P.S. Bozeman Montana is very close to Yellowstone, the national park, not the TV Series Yellowstone staring Kevin Costner, or the Yellowstone Club. It's also a short drive from Big Sky.
Cheers!

I am not. The fiance didn't seem to think that was a great date for Valentine's Day. I thought long and hard about calling off the engagement over it, but I am going to ride it out a little while longer.

Let me know next time you are headed this way, though! I really want to catch your women's team as much as possible they come through, and you've seemed like a great guy to connect with.
