Can We Stop With The Derangement Syndromes?

When I first came to egriz, it was to find information like that provided by Payton Lives. Some of you have not matured beyond high school as evidenced by the frequent squabbles over penis envy. From my point of view, many posters on eGriz have one or both of the following conditions. The first one is BDS, Bobcat Derangement Syndrome, the second is HDS, Hauck Derangement Syndrome. When it comes to the Bobcats, the only time I hate them is when we actually compete against them. The rest of the time, I just do not like them. But some of you obsess about the Cats endlessly, goofy polls, stupid comments, most of the comments are just so derisive, you assign stupid nicknames to the coaches, players, faculty. There is the constant derisiveness about the Cats facilities, like you are jealous. I just do not care about their recruits, coaching staff, etc. I follow the Grizzlies. The catalyst for this post is the jackwagonery that occurred after losing in the semis, so many dumped on the team and coaches for losing TWICE in the same season, that is pure BDS. For me, I enjoyed this season immensely, I liked the team a lot. Other than the time the Griz tried to put a turd in the punch bowl against Eastern, the team played well. For some who think scoring 77 points a game, having 1000 yards of total offense and shutting out the opponent and giving up less than 100 yards is playing well. Being 13-2 is a great season, but that the losses were against our rivals, and we did not win the Natty, the sky has fallen. Did I like losing to the Cats? No, but there are worse things than losing an athletic competition. True losses are my father dying of cancer or if we lost a world war.
Now for the HDS. My goodness, the asshat comments and ill will towards Hauck is just over the top. So what, you didn’t like him, you thought he was a loser (looser), cheated UM out of multiple Natty’s by being stubborn. If one mentions that they support him, you get called a bootlicker, asskisser, suck up. PR/Hoops is largely correct, most do not know football. It goes deeper than that, you do not know coaching. You do not know how to organize and hire a staff, you do not know how to recruit, run a strength and conditioning program, build a team culture, let alone teaching football. In my opinion, Hauck excelled in building a strong team identity, a toughness, an expectation of working , playing hard. The results were not always pleasing, but there was a structure. My fervent hope for Kennedy is that the positive team culture remains, even improves. Why do some of you care so much about the resignation? Who cares when certain things occurred? Coach Hauck has every right to move on. I think getting the transfers and recruits signed was of concern for him. Last point. The comments about why he resigned has substance, those things would annoy me greatly as a coach. What Hauck did not say, could not say is that he was tired of the back stabbers, egomaniac boosters, armchair quaterbacks, boo birds, unhappy and insecure fans living vicariously through the Griz. As many of you post that this a fan board and one can post as sees fit, I have done so, will it make any difference? Not likely, but I needed to say it and I honestly do not care if it ruffled feathers…keep things in perspective, let go of the past, keep hoping and supporting the team. I have loved the Grizzlies for decades and I expect to love them a few more. Get rid of your derangement, for sure quit coming on here with your ugly agenda, hating on the coaches, deriding the Cats with every gust of wind out of Bozeman. It is tedious.

Whew, that's an epoch. It had to be good to keep me to the end. It's better than good. Thanks.
especially meaningful to you was the 'quit hating on coaches' line, something which you never did when you said that if one guy wasn't fired and another particular guy hired, you were cutting ties with the university.

hypocrisy is the greatest luxury...

Derangement Syndromes are not the same as not liking one coach for valid reasons and saying so a few times.

kem said he was cutting ties with um unless a specific coach was fired, and hauck hired. that's more extreme than just saying he doesn't like a coach for valid reasons. btw, if you really go as hard as you say with the deep water work out, that's awesome, and puts you in the top 5% of people i've seen doing that exercise. try angling your body in different positions, i.e. almost as if you are lying on your back. that'll increase the leg resistance a lot. most pool blowers are just going to hit your upper body, it's tougher than going against those.

I agree with you 95%. I have never bad mouthed Bobby on here nor really got into bashing the Cats or their players. I think he is a very good coach. The way Bobby left though really does rub me wrong. I feel like now his public statements when announcing were very disingenous. But in the overall picture his return made the Griz much better and I wish him luck. I just hope he doesn't take any Griz players.

I think his public statements were probably accurate. What didn’t you like?

It's pretty much the same with Cat fans. I love competition but wow....people need to get a life outside of fandom. Less subjective whining and more objective analysis of football would sure be nice.

Sheesh what an absolutely nightmare to read…

Also first day on the internet? People are going to continue say whatever the hell they want about the coaches, Bobcats, etc.

And if Hauck truly left in part because of “armchair QBs” and “boo birds” (which I highly doubt btw), then good riddance. It comes with the territory and if you have that thin of skin, then being a head coach probably isn’t for you.
