I’m ok with Hauck retiring/ resigning or whatever. People got the inalienable right to the pursuit of happiness. My question is did Illinois watch any film of our defense the last few years? It wasn’t that long ago that Eastern and Weber hung + 50 on the Griz D. Couldn’t stop power running game. Gave up way too many 3 and long in critical moments! Anyway, good for coach Hauck and his family. Hope it all works out. Go Griz!Word of the Illinois DC leaving didn't leak out until Feb. 1, it looks like.
The phone of Hauck's agent was ringing off the hook after Hauck announced his retirement.
The announcement was on 2/4.Word of the Illinois DC leaving didn't leak out until Feb. 1, it looks like.

Tell me you didn't listen to the press conference w/out telling me you never listened to the press conference. You may have watched it but you obviously shut your ears off for it.Hauck was yapping in his retirement speech how coaching in today's college football wasnt fun anymore, how he didn't enjoy going to the office anymore and roughly a week later takes this job at Illinois.. guys a piece of crap.
Bobby played somebody dammit!! Catch up, we hate him now cus he bettered himself w/out us. What an ass!!How do you think he got played?
I presume Haslam accepted his resignation. With his history with Griz football, you think Kent should have hit him a contract breech? So if he “retired” to avoid paying UM for “resigning” during a contract that is okay ?
What breach?I presume Haslam accepted his resignation. With his history with Griz football, you think Kent should have hit him a contract breech?
The reason was retirement. He no longer wanted to be a head coach. He made that clear. From a news article.
Should Hauck leave UM for any reason other than "by reason of retirement, death, disability or incapacity," UM will receive as liquidated damages an "amount equal to Coach's Base Salary at the time of the termination, multiplied by the number of years remaining under this Contract and/or extension at the time of termination. In the case of partial years, the amount will be pro-rated by the number of months left in the partial year."
There are suggestions on this thread that UM should receive a payout for him not completing his contract. Total BS, of course. What breach?
FU. He was perfectly clear that being a head football coach wasn't fun anymore. You can be sure he did not entertain any HC offers.Hauck was yapping in his retirement speech how coaching in today's college football wasnt fun anymore, how he didn't enjoy going to the office anymore and roughly a week later takes this job at Illinois.. guys a piece of crap.
Believe what you want; it's you that is naive. So Bobby Hauck has become “king of the portal”. He entered the coaching portal and bam a big payday. lol… Anyone who thinks this was a spur of the moment deal is naive at best. Bobby has been and always will be secretive and speaking in half truths. It’s who he is..
Yes, I'm highly offended and you owe me an apology. I also have been told I'm as smart as a kumquat, which i think many on egriz can agree and I'm waaaaaayyyyyyyy fu-king smarter then 84.You’re right I have pissed off all the kumquats with that unfair comparison.
Impossible ask.All this bitching about how Montana should move up ala NDSU, and now all this bitching about Bobby moving up. Jeez, have a little consistency folks.
None of that is fact.I think how it was cook up that gets to people....he knew he was leaving and did a tag team
head coach deal without giving the AD time to do a nationwide search...sounds sketchy to
me....
Do you have any defensive players that Illinois would be interested in taking?I really don’t care what Bobby does as long as he doesn’t take any of our players with. Otherwise who gives a shit?
It would have no affect on that decision at all.Do you think we are moving up with BK as head coach ? Not a chance in hell.
