Soccer Citowicki leaving for Wazzu?

No updates yet :-/. I feel more confident this time around but keeping my hopes in check till a contract is signed and UM is ready to announce.
Fingers crossed he gets the facility upgrades guaranteed in his contract.
Confident they will offer him? Or confident he will accept?

Facility upgrades I’m hoping for is the locker room, lights, training room, etc, Kent had made a promise to Chris to do the upgrades if he had stayed.
I thought he already announced the locker room in his letter, how long will this last now deciding to upgrade all this and does Gote say no thanks if Kent says no

Honestly I don’t trust the letter coming from UM, they were supposed to start upgrading the lockers going as far back as 2018. They had architects out at the field several times since then and have always pushed it back whenever another team needed something.

But soccer isn’t the only one with subpar lockers, softball and track n field are all supposed to be using the same building as soccer!

Got it. So Gore is asking for those facility upgrades to be part of his contract. Smart. Is there a timeline for Kent to say no or yes or did Gore give them a date to respond. This could on for weeks.

I think we need something similar to what Iowa did: https://hawkeyesports.com/soccer-operations-building

This point you might well leave the current facility and just use it as storage. Then build a completely new building. Upgrading the current facility is basically putting lipstick on a pig.
So basically Gore is not going to accept unless those upgrades are in written into his contract is that accurate. What is the timeline for a decesion. Does AD even have the authority to approve this.

From social media posts, it looked like the softball team had some grade school lockers along the wall of their indoor batting shed but no actual changing room, restrooms (admittedly hard to tell), etc.

I thought if they were going to build new locker rooms they should do it right and put a building off the end of the indoor batting facility where soccer, softball, track, and even football (during summer practices for accessible training room) that could use it.

They could have the north side of the building be public restrooms/concessions to increase fan experience, atmosphere, and revenue opportunities. The south or backside of the building could be locker rooms (2 on west end for soccer, 2 on east end for softball, with shared training room in between...have lounge area/video room and coaches' offices adjacent to the "Home" locker rooms on each end). By having 4 total locker rooms it would be more accommodating for scheduling and for multi team tournaments like "The Rumble in the Rockies", conference tourneys, or renting out the facility (revenue $$$ cha-ching) for travel team or high school state tournaments (those types of events could also double as a way to promote UM (only DI soccer and softball programs in the entire state) and give campus tours to not only the participating players but also other family members and supporting friends that might be considering continuing their education).

Another thing that would help towards making these sports more revenue is investing in video boards. One would think it would be more enticing/valuable to a local business to sponsor and do dynamic advertisements than just hanging a dull, static banner. Plus, the multimedia opportunities like walk out vids for softball batters and pitchers or team entrance/intro hype vids would be worth it alone just to increase the atmosphere and help grow the fan base and their engagement. Idaho State ffs has video boards for softball, soccer, and track (though, from what I could tell on ESPN+ streams they dont use them to their full potential...more just as a little nicer looking scoreboard and not much video or advertising content). Adding video boards would also help clean up things like the outfield fence on the softball field (in the past, there was a hodgepodge of different colored banners/billboards hanging from the fence or the side of the scoreboard that really hurt the branding/identity of the field imo...I am even jealous of the sharpness of Northern Colorado's outfield fence with its consistent, clean branding and graphics even though it was basically the quality of the banner material that goes around UM's soccer fence).

But anyways, it's always easier to dream than do...the LG locker room has been "in the works" for about a decade it seems...at least since before Sophia Stiles' time. And it's probably easy to say "well, South Campus doesn't make money so we're going to funnel money elsewhere first" but I doubt football was much of a money maker before the investments to WaGriz back in the '80s.

We don’t even know if they have offered him yet do we?

It’s apparent the AD and his staff skill sets can’t take the program to the next level especially in today’s ncaa climate. 2 jersey patches can be worn starting in August to earn more nil revenue haven’t heard one word on it.

The AD contract ends in June, maybe a new AD this summer.

I said I hope he gets it guaranteed in his contract versus the gentleman agreement Chris had with Kent.

Haven’t heard anything about uniform patch deals, and it’s crazy they haven’t announced at least their first deal yet.

Fingers crossed we get a new AD this summer that’s fired up and ready to move UM forward.

The Big Sky commissioner is trying to get one universal patch for every team. He said if he doesn’t get something that’s in the millions by the end of February, then the schools are free at that time to look for their own opportunities individually.
