Who should Haslam target for the New HC since BK only has a one year contract

This VERY HYPOTHETICAL question is for the football geniuses on eGriz (I am not one of them): Who would you propose that Haslam go after as the new HC and why? (This ought to be fun, I got popcorn).

My answer:
I would have promoted from within too. It's a one year contract, it doesn't matter who it is, hell, they could have promoted Gubner to HC for that matter.

It's clear Haslam's plan is to recruit a new HC while the current place holder (no offense to Coach Kennedy) hopefully maintains the status quo next year.

My short list names to go after would be:
Tony Annese (Ferris State)
Garret McGuire (Nebraska, WRs)
Winston DeLattiboudere (Minnesota, DL)
Chennis Berry - South Carolina State

My longshots would be:
Brock Spack - Illinois State
Todd Whitten - Tarleton State
Paul Simmons (Harding)
Kevin Cahill (Lehigh)
Bobby Wilder (Tennessee Tech)
Tayler Polk (Tulane, Co-DC)
Justin Green

annnd an oddball target as the new S&C coach:
Danny Kistler

We have our head coach. Bobby indicated he brought Kennedy to Montana for this reason. I assume Kennedy’s keeping the very good staff. Kennedy can make some staff adjustments next year. Some of you got what you wished for. Support the new coach. Unless Kennedy is a disaster, bringing in another coach next year would be a disaster.

We have a head coach for a 1 year contract. HOPEFULLY, Kennedy is what the team needs, and turns out to be what we wanted, including what we wanted for Coach Hauck. That's not the question.

You seem to be in the know about everything Griz football, great. But, play the game. It's hypothetical.

If BK doesn't work out, I'd like either Annese, Pease, or Justin Green. Those are my top 3. But, my dream staff would be Justin Green HC, Pease OC, and Annese DC

Let’s see how Matt Miller does as Wazzu’s OC next year. If he does a good job then I’d give him a call. Helena native, good recruiter, looking to climb the ladder, etc. Green could come back as OC.

I also think it doesn’t hurt to call Ronnie Bradford. He’d probably say no but I think you have to make the call. Otherwise, I don’t think it hurts to go to the NDSU or SDSU trees.

Plus there will be no lack of interest from other Big Sky coaches. You don’t think Cody Hawkins is itching to get out of Poky? Tim Plough?

I hope BK does great and earns the job full time, but if he doesn’t work out, the Griz will have a ton of interest. There will be no lack of suitors.

I support this message.

I hope BK turns out to be the guy for a long time. He has every opportunity to earn it. I hope the one year deal does not hurt us in recruiting battles.

puzzling to say the least...was it up to Bobby to pick the next coach? Why not give
the program time to search for the next fit ....I did not know it was a tag team pick..
Did Bobby realize he didn't have the team to beat the Cats in Bozeman next year in
Bozeman and bail so it would not tarnished his record of losing 3 in row...
Many questions to ponder....I guess will see how it all plays out...

I’m concerned that BK might be taking a lot of the team to replace prime time Sanders in Boulder after winning the national title. I don’t see him settling into the same position again after winning the chipper like big game vegetable tray over in Bozo.
Interesting. This coming year I expect the Griz will go 8-4 at worst and 11-1 at best, but I expect 9-3.
UM vs:
SUU - win
Drake - win
UTU - win
Oregon State - definite loss
UC Davis - not sure
UNC - win
NAU - win
Idaho - not sure
EWU - win
PSU - win
ISU - win
MSU - not sure

High school recruiting could be really interesting this season. Everyone wants Montana boys however if their is not a clear choice as to who the coach will be the following year could effect things big time.
Hope he crushes it and all signs point to an extension.

Somehow, I'm not reassured. Disaster v Disaster. Sounds like Alfred, Lord Tennyson.

I love that BK has a ton of relationships across the country and is so well respected by those who have worked with and know him.
